He has admitted that he wanted Paxton Lynch.....then Connor Cook. Hope Dak enjoys coming to work knowing he was an afterthought.

And he has complained about NOT overpaying to get Lynch. Which is his way of letting everyone else know that if it was up to him, he would have overpaid. So not sure if this is good or bad....but it certainly confirms Jerry is not pulling the strings. He is letting us know that if Paxton Lynch turns out to be a stud...."don't blame me".

But this is what it boils down to for me. He should show a united front. What's done is done. And you don't let your new players know that you really wanted someone else. And you don't out the front office/coaching staff by letting everyone know you disagreed with the direction they took. Of course this stuff happens....but the quality organizations don't come out and SAY it.

There is too much transparency. We are an open book. It is simply unprofessional. And I know nothing can be done about it...but if you cannot muzzle him after all these years.....I think it will get even worse as he starts to circle the drain.

I am so glad Jerry was overruled. He might have offered next year's number 1.

Proves he's the idiot we all know he is unfortunately. Sickening to read that

Oh come on. These guys know what the draft is all about.

We openly wanted Shazier and said so. Even Manziel. Then we settled for Martin and got an instant all-pro.

These guys aren't that sensitive.

And it was embarrassing that after Martin was playing at an All Pro level...and Manziel was sucking on and off the field...that Jerry continued to lament not drafting Manziel. I think he said something to the effect of "10 years of sell outs". THIS....THIS...is our GM...talking about sellouts.....while referencing a player who CANNOT play...and CANNOT even properly conduct himself off the field to give himself a chance on the field!

Jerry has shown himself not to be a good talent evaluator (he's a shoot first, think later, premature evaluator) so the fact that he is taking input from multiple sources who are paid to do that job and hopefully do it well can only be a positive sign. Jerry isn't going to change after seven decades.

He's Bozo the owner.

Well it was obvious to me Prescott was a back up plan. It was leak we tried to trade back into the first up to get Lynch. I'm not sure how the raiders new we was interested in Cook but it must been from the fact everyone knew we was looking at qbs all draft. So Cook in 2nd didn't make sense but in the 3rd did.

I see nothing wrong with this. I actually think its good news. He wants guys but he's leaning to his scouts. I think he's dropping it to the media when these guys or IF these guys succeed he can tell you "I TOLD YOU SO....".

JJ: "BUT THE $$$$$$$$" Thankfully they told him to sleep it off on the couch/or sit there looking important.

I don't think Jerry could have done much to get that seahawk pick. They were intent on staying in the first round to keep the 5th year option.

Jerry is the GM and Owner. Of course he's going to talk about sell outs and things owners talk about. We already know we have a different situation with Jerry and the Cowboys. Its been this way long before now and shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

Jerry takes the bullet for wanting Manziel but I guarantee you he wasn't the only one in that scouting department that wanted him over Martin. I'm just thankful he listened to whoever is responsible whether it be his son, McClay or Garrett or whoever. Someone has a powerful voice.

1. I absolutely love his transparency. It's strategic in nature. It's not like he's telling us what they're going to do before they do it. He is giving his opinion of moves that are made. No issues here with that. I love to hear the stories of how decisions come about.

2. I wanted Lynch but, when that fell through, I was elated to know we didn't get the career NFL clipboard holder non leader non team captain Cook.

3. What Jerry has done is added even more fuel to a Dak that wanted to come here and now feels he needs to go just that much further to prove he belongs in Big D. He will trip over himself proving that they made the right choice.

But THAT is precisely the problem. He has become such a polarizing figure...that he is more interested in looking good/being right...than winning. It confirms that he is aware of his reputation in football circles...and that he is STILL looking for validation. Again...he is so delusional...that he complained about passing Manziel. I wish I could make this up. How can ANYONE lament not drafting Johnny Manziel?

Maybe Dak Prescott will work harder knowing that he wasn't the Cowboys' first choice.

I think Dak is smart enough to realize that he wasn't their first choice.

I don't think it bothered Emmitt Smith a whole lot that Jimmy Johnson wanted someone else originally on draft day.

Plus, I think most o the players would prefer someone who gives you the truth rather than some two-faced GM like the Eagles have. Yeah, yeah, Demarco Murray is our guy and here to stay and then a couple days later Murray is traded. That stuff goes over even worse. Just tell the player upfront.

I dunno, never took that angle into consideration tbh...Let THEM make the mistakes narrative, or I deferred and proved you all wrong. Not bad idea. That Johnnie Walker makes me doubt it though; him ever being that calculating.

Prescott was the back up to the back up plan. And the plan was probably the back up plan after the trades to #1 and 2 took Goff and Wentz out of contention.

Something tells me we will draft our QB of the future in 2017 and leave that draft without a 2018 first

If anyone else besides Jones wanted Manziel...they should immediately be fired and never allowed to work in the NFL again.
