I don't know. It makes me happy that he isn't running things with no consideration of the opinions of those around him.

Exactly.

He's officially now just the angry old dad/owner that goes and whines in the media about not getting his way while Stephen, Jason, and Will build a contender.

And it was embarrassing that after Martin was playing at an All Pro level...and Manziel was sucking on and off the field...that Jerry continued to lament not drafting Manziel. I think he said something to the effect of "10 years of sell outs". THIS....THIS...is our GM...talking about sellouts.....while referencing a player who CANNOT play...and CANNOT even properly conduct himself off the field to give himself a chance on the field!
He's not our GM. He thinks he is, and every once in a while he gets to make a low-risk call (Greg Hardy) but he's not in charge anymore.

The last time he lamented so badly things worked out really well.
Looking forward to seeing how Jaylon Smith and Maliek Collins combined do compared to Lynch.
But Lynch did land a crazy good situation. Just show up and don't turn it over too much and his team can win.

From Peter King's article after this past draft:

It was obvious Baltimore wasn’t bluffing. Eight minutes had passed from the time Stephen Jones told Newsome to call if he changed his mind. It was clear he hadn’t. And Jerry Jones didn’t want to risk losing the player who’d been the team’s preferred target for months.

“Get Zeke on the phone,” Jerry Jones said. And he instructed the card to be turned in with Ezekiel Elliott’s name on it.

Jones’ grin was Texas-sized when he heard Elliott from a noisy draft green room in Chicago.

Yes, you are so right. He is just a figurehead or something.
