On NFL Network just now, Deion asked Jerry about the future of the team and Jerry's reply was that we need some "wow." He said we've got two draft picks, and we don't need a QB, O-line, or anyone in the defensive front 7. He said we need a difference-making player on offense.

Jerry's already got several "wows" on offense now namely Romo, TO, Witten & Barber and our entire OL sure qualifies. I can easily understand why he wants add another offensive "wow" either a RB or another quality WR. I'm just concerned Jerry will give up too much to get that "wow" offensive player (McFadden?). McFadden's probably a top 5 pick and we apparently will have 2 low first round draft picks which not nearly enough for McFadden. Now maybe there another player Jerry thinking of who won't cost so much in the draft. Or could he be thinking of a FA signing.

Unfortunately TO is up there in age. Absolutely need to be preparing to replace him.

Romo is absolutely wow! Witten... ok... I'll give it to you based on production certainly.

Barber is not wow! Barber is NOT wow!

The O-line... well very few O-lines in the history of the league are wow. This unit is good. Don't think its wow!

Not of that is disrespect. Its not. Not everyone is wow.

Hopefully the 'wow' pick will have nothing to do with those 2 picks - - - - Larry Fitzgerald.
I'm with you on Fitzgerald, but the way Jerry deals, it could involve 3 teams and still include those 2 picks.

Why does it surprise people that Jerry wants offense?

Look at what we have:
TO: Sure he's one of the best in the game....but he's 33. He's also going to be in the last year of his contract next year. And with all the FAs we have, he may have to wait to get extended....something he's shown he doesn't like.

Glenn: I would be surprised if he ever suits up for us again.

Crayton: He'll be an UFA next year. With all the players we'll have to sign, can we keep him?

Barber/Jones: Both FAs. Fortunately, Barber is a RFA so we can match. But it's almost a given that Jones will be gone. We'll need someone to help take the load off Barber....he runs like a maniac....

If we can somehow sign Crayton and Barber then restructure TO, then we may be able to wait later on the first day. But we still need playmakers on offense. The last thing we need to do is leave Romo weaponless.

Dallas needs a WR and another CB.

Both were needs last year, also.

You still think WR was a need?

And btw, after tonight, hopefully you dont have a reason to think CB was a need.

That would be awesome. Arizona could just become our farm system, Davis and Fitzgerald in back to back years.

OK, who would have a problem with the 2 1st's and a Spears or RW for Dmac? Dmac is a stud no doubt. Think back to our days with Tony D...Would make the passing game so much easier for Tony. Can always get a stud WR as a free agent. I think we can live without RW or Spears.

Get it done Jerry!

Steve Slaton is a homerun hitter too and could probably be had without packaging the two #1's plus additional picks.
Slaton is pretty good but I like Ray Rice of Rutger bit more. He is playing tonight on ESPN so if you get a chance take a look at him, he is fast and has good moves.
The cost to move up for McFadden may just be too rich for me.
Yeah, same here.

unless dallas is willing to let them 2 first round picks go, they wont get fitz.

larry fitzgerald isnt even a FA until after the 2009 yr.

We don't need another RB.

JuJo and Barber are perfect for our system.

WOW!!! wake up man, Jones isnt coming back next season. Even if we wanted to resign him he wouldnt stay cause he wants to be a featured back. WE NEED ANOTHER RB!!!

this thread will now rival the total number of posts in the game thread tonight. Mcfadden's name will become synonymous with christ in about 2 pages.

It's cheaper to re-sign JuJo and keep our 2 #1 pick's.

We can get 3 players instead of 1.

why keep JJ when dallas can sign a player like mike heart in rd 2.

and draft players like malcolm kelly, and terrell thomas in round 1.

First pick a corner and trade the second first rounder and a player (or two ?) for Fitzgerald
