They really don’t. They have around $15 million in cap. They also will need to pay two first round picks.

Now let’s see who is a free agent.

Well, Jalen Hurts needs paid. So, you can backload it and keep it low now. But like Dak, you’re eventually paying the 40 million.

Defensive line
Javon Hargrave, Fletcher Cox and Brandon Graham

Offensive line

Jason Kelce, Andre Dillard and Isaac Seumalo

Defensive back

Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, Marcus Epps and James Bradberry

Running back

Miles Sanders and Boston Scott

Linebacker

Kyzir White and T.J. Edwards

That is a lot of guys needing big pay days. They draft very well, so Davis and Dean take care of two starting spots. I’m not saying they take a step back or stink. But they will have to rely on draft picks, lower tier guys as opposed to vets.

But hell, it’s Roseman. I’m not surprised if the entire cast returns to run it back one One year - $1 million dollar deals lol.
All those are easily replaceable or can be renegotiated. I'd take their approach over "we like our guys" philosophy any day of the week.

LOL no they didn't LOL

They didn't mortgage any of their future like the Rams did LOL LOL

All those defensive guys (suh, Bradbury, white, etc, etc) were all just cheap 1 year rentals that will have no impact on their future when they're gone LOL.

Mortgaging the future means you give a draft picks to win NOW. Eagles have had multiple 1st rd picks for a couple years now...and still has 2 this draft, with a good amount of cap space LOL.

You don't have to believe whatever Jerruh tells you to believe LOL.
Look at Bradberrys contract. They gave him a 4 yr 7.2m contract with 6m signing bonus that voids after 1 season and payed him 1.3 base this season. His cap hit for next season is almost 5m and 1m the next 2. They did this with multiple players, including Graham, Hargrave, Seamalo and Kelce. Kelce cap hit for next season is 11m.

That is CHUMP change for a starting CB, who played at ProBowl level.

It does absolutely nothing to their future plans.

Jerruh is a check book balancer who hides cash under his matress. Eagles and roseman work the system like cutting edge smart business leaders.

I know it's frustrating to see ur rival do it better, to work the system better...but to sit back and say "they're gonna pay one day" just comes off as sour grapes, and jealous, when they just keep fielding good to great teams, almost every year, over and over, and played in a third of all NFC Championship Games this millennium, with 3 different coaches and 3 different QBs, while we haven't gotten to a single one?

I get the dummies in here will lap up whatever Jerruh tells them to think....but I sure hope SOMEONE in the Cowboys building is watching and trying to learn from what they're doing in Philly.. But hey, I guess people won't start getting tired of the BS until 40 or 50 years has passed since we accomplished anything legitimate. 30 years is nothing.

We will know this is true only if the Eagles lose a lot of these guys and pay Hurts
yes it depends on if they can keep the team together for 2023.
If so they have a good shot at being in the SB again!
The only teams in their way is the cowboys lol and the niners if they can get a QB who lasts the season or playoff game with eagles.

They went all in and have nothing to show for it. :flagwave:
not true they were in the SB, and are NFC champs, and lost by 3 points in SB.
If Cowboys had done that many here would be very happy about it and glad for the post season effort by team and players.

KC had SB experience, and now phil does ( this current team) so if they get there again in 23 then good chance they win it.
I imagine most phil fans happy about the season their team had, and getting to the SB and almost winning or going to OT.
Anytime your team does that you should be happy about that and enjoy it even if they lose a game like that.

I was rooting for KC, but I respect what the eagles did and how they played in SB (except some of their players who play dirty, and their HC who is a bit of a jerk
the way he acts on sideline)

Lol, you’re really kinda missing the point. They paid him 5m on next year’s cap before they can even start negotiations for next year. They did so with multiple players who are FAs. The 5 players mentioned count 54m against their cap from bonuses that were prorated into seasons after their contract was expired. They have 29m in available cap to try to resign 11 starters who are FAs and don’t have anyone other than Johnson to restructure or designate June 1 that will save anything amounting to much!

I think they can save money by actually signing some of these guys… It means they can kick the voided Money one more year down the road. I read somewhere that they can sign Hargrave to a three-year extension and actually gain in cap space…
I bet Kelce is something similar…I actually predict that Miles Sanders, Cox, and Graham Will be the only guys that go… And they might bring back one or both of the later Late in the off-season.
Heck they might be stronger and 23. Their GM is no idiot, and he must realize that their window is wide open right now… Before they lose Kelce and Lane Johnson.

We had better improve our roster this off-season. It’s actually depressing trying to forecast things we could do to improve… Because deep down you know we won’t do any of it. But hey we love our guys LOL

But they do that every year! They will sign...whoever they want. They always do.

You actually think they're just going to "tighten their belts" and field cheap starters for a couple years?

They just keep pushing stuff to the future...like the National Debt. It never comes back to bite them

They were the WORST salary cap situation last year, and still signed all these guys. This year, they'll actually be like in Top half of the league. I don't even want to know what they're going to do with all that money, after seeing what they did with negative cap space.

They can also restructure Slay. Check out www.overthecap.com… Then go to the calculator. It is a ton of fun for us wannabe GM’s

The money has to count sometime… It doesn’t evaporate. They started using voidable years extensively a couple years ago. At some point they will have to pay the piper… But they’ll probably try to time it so they do it when their current window shuts.

These voidable years are the only things that JJ could’ve been referring to. They are essentially taking loans from future cap years.

I wish that JJ had of done this at the beginning of our current window.

They are borrowing from future, knowing the salary cap will keep ballooning up. They essentially playing under the salary cap 2 years in the future. It will only "catch up to them" if the salary cap is held steady.
Sure, they have a lot of dead money, but that dead money only looks like a lot now. 2 years from now, which is where they'd be borrowing it from, it won't seem like that much then. Kinda like QB contracts from years ago SEEMED like a lot then, but seem cheap now.

Lol, and how they did that was by turning Cox and Graham contract backload pay into bonus, prorating it into this coming season and putting in an automatic void after this season. There’s no one left to do so with… they’ve literally kicked the can down the road till it dead ends!

So. Your saying Jerruh was right...and Eagles will be forced to field a bunch of cheap players next 2 years?

But every team pays “one day”. Every team has the same salary cap. Teams that find a suitable replacement for a star player in the draft and/or UDFAs and move on from the star before his performance declines may stay competitive for a number of years. The Eagles have to pay their quarterback. That’s how the NFL business goes. Hurts’ next contract is going to use up significantly more cap space than his current one. That means less salary available for the other 52 players on the roster. It’s not magic, it’s math. Hargrave, Sanders, Bradberry, gone, gone, gone. All three had great seasons. Roseman isn’t a genius for what Philly accomplished this year. If they sign Hurts and make the playoffs next season, he’s pretty damned smart. If an NFL franchise is going to emulate another it probably should choose Kansas City. They won the Super Bowl and Vegas has them as the favorite to do it again next year. The Eagles and Cowboys aren’t even in the top three in odds to win it next season. This is an important off season for a number of franchises. Stop firing barbs at the Cowboys organization. You’re disingenuous, you and I both know it.

His contract automatically voids after this season! They reallygoing to want to deal with this crap during the year they have to resign or franchise their QB. As old as he is they’d be better off releasing him and using what cap savings they get to resign Bradberry!

You don't think Cowboys org deserves barbs?

What do you think they deserve then? Praise? More time? What do you think they deserve?

You think Roseman isn't running his team better than Jerruh has?

Either Bradberry or Slay, Sanders, Kelce, Seamalo, Cox, Graham, Edwards or White, Epps or Gardner Johnson… Maybe all of the last 4 if they find a way of keeping Hargrave… that doesn’t get into the key Minchew Scott etc!
