Jerry sucks at what he does because he doesnt learn from his mistakes. Nothing to do with him thinking he did a great job. If anything, he admits he has screwed up.

But the reason why he said what he said is Jerry believes he consistently does a good job as GM and that forces outside his control have let him down over the last 25 years. The single biggest reason this franchise is on one of the historically worst postseason runs in NFL history is because of Jerry. It's that simple.

Most owners, enduring the same run, would immediately question the direction of the club and make changes at the GM level. But when your owner is your GM, you are basically screwed because the owner will never blame or demand the GM change course.

There is zero doubt that he tells himself every August camp that we are ooooohhhhhhh sooo close to a SB championship. And then we spit the bit and he learns zero from it.

Jerry's biggest mistake after Parcells retired was hiring Garrett and Wade Phillips. If he would've hired Norv Turner with a young prime Romo we would've won at least 1 or 2 Superbowls.
Norv and Romo would've been perfect for each other at the time.
