Funny considering the owner/gm of the Cowboys minus 1 very lucky pick and an UDFA hasnt picked a good or even NFL caliber QB since Troy Aikman.

There's a second example with Parcells. People want to blast him because he didn't win here....but what he DID do was point the entire franchise in the right direction.

The 2000-2002 Cowboys were pathetic. The 2007 team earned a one seed with puppet Wade. Who made that happen? GM Jerry Jones? Yeah I don't think so.

That team was primed to make a run or two, and Jerry managed to screw that up also.

He basically wants to be the walk around HC who picks two coordinators, but hires a puppet to stand on the sidelines during games.

Never once has he not forced at least one coordinator on a HC.

Either way anyone wants to look at that, the bottom line is it hasn't worked, and the sample size is huge.

Most owners, enduring the same run, would immediately question the direction of the club and make changes at the GM level. But when your owner is your GM, you are basically screwed because the owner will never blame or demand the GM change course.

There is zero doubt that he tells himself every August camp that we are ooooohhhhhhh sooo close to a SB championship. And then we spit the bit and he learns zero from it.

We would be close to a championship if we had made it to the NFC Championship and lost a close game. If we went to the Championship game, but our opponent squeaked by us 28 to 24, then we would have been close to a super bowl.

Dak was sheer luck as they tried to trade up for Paxton Lynch, then Connor Cook, then they took Dak.

Only difference is. Again. Cincinnati has been to the dance where the Cowboys have not. That is all I am trying to say.

Call it what you want, it wasnt skill. AS you said, everyone would have taken Burrows. Broken clock, blind squirrel, inevitability, luck, whatever.

I know you didnt. My response originally was to another poster talking about Jerrys failures over 27 years as the Owner/GM. I said the only other Owner/GM was just in a superbowl. Thats literally how this all started. Whether it be luck or not lol
