I love the old "Emmitt was good but had the best OL in football" The OL was good but they weren't dominant until Emmitt got there and other than Allen (who came much later) none are in the HOF.

Emmitt was the best big game back I ever saw, he wasn't flashy, he got the tough yards and was definitely a complete football player.

Sorry but Zeke even being considered for the ROH is a joke, may as well consider Murray and Julius Jone too while he's at it.
ALL of this!!

I still think Jerry has family members posting here. lol
It’s only place I’ve seen any support of our owner on this issue.

I’d recommend Jimmys newest book “ Swagger”.

It addresses in Jimmys words on how Jethro begun going back on his word wanting more involvement . Basically cause our owner wanted in on the fun after they begun winning.

Jethro was disappointed his financial success off the field wasn’t being recognized as much as Jimmy's success on the field. That’s when he begun meddling wanting to be more involved with football operations cause he wanted some of the credit and fun with that celebrity status.

I don’t think he was comparing him in that way. Another example how some fans misread or misinterpret words.

The comparison was just in how he was returning to play on a different team. Had nothing to do with their accomplishments.
No. I didn’t misread anything.

I wouldn’t utter their names in the same breath in any context. I reckon you and Jones got the same warm and fuzzies with Zeke coming in to play with another team as you did when the All-time leading rusher in NFL history did lol.

Don Perkins is not the gotcha some think it is.

1st) Perkins was the 1st player ever signed by the Cowboys in their history, signed even before they were officially a franchise. That warrants special consideration.

2nd) Perkins finished his career as the 4th all time leading rusher at that point in NFL history. Remember what I said about being top 10 all time at your position? Perkins was when he retired. Context of time and stats matters.

I was a huge Zeke fan from about 2016-2019. One of my favorite players on the team at the time.

But he doesn't belong in the same sentence as Emmitt. Hell, not even the same paragraph. These two things are not the same.
Context is crucial.

I see people are still disrespecting Emmitt. I get it from opposing fans who always say that Emmitt was nowhere near as great as Barry Sanders and others. Those people are wrong but deep down they know who the man was on this team in the 90’s.

I never expected such disrespect from the owner of the team. Mentioning Zeke in the same breath as Emmitt is down right disrespectful and just ridiculous.
Did you know that both are running backs, and they both played for Dallas, and they both contributed to the success of the team and its fanbase. Emmitt as far as career contributions is untouchable, but everything else is relative to the billion dollar owner that has you all in check.

You should have just stopped at "Emmitt as far as career contributions is untouchable" and kept your mouth shut. That, or just not commented at all.

And what success did Zeke contribute here to make it worthy of even mentioning Emmitt and all that he contributed?

As far as your other assertion, we already know that the ROH is beholden to Jones and his ego. If he wants to put Elliott in there you can eat it up with a biscuit for all I care. Mentioning Emmitt Smith and Zeke together in any form or fashion, I don't care if they like the same color, is ridiculous.

8000+ yards rushing and 68 TDs.

Decent numbers, but nowhere near what should qualify for the RoH. Letting in people who did not do anything significant for the team be it breaking records, finishing top 10 all time at your position, and/or being a big reason the Cowboys won at least one Super Bowl will lessen the prestige of the RoH.

Zeke, nice player no championships, gets into ROH.

Jimmy Johnson, who built Jerry's SB teams, coached two of them to SBs. Nope.

If this doesn't highlight the ridiculousness, arrogance and stupidity of Jerry, nothing will.
Romo Jason Dez and Zeke…

All get RoH nods

It wasn’t anywhere near the same feeling as Emmitt but I can see where Jethro was coming from. That’s all. This became IMO more about some fans hostility towards Elliott than our owner’s sentiments.

Could be right.

I like Zeke and appreciated what he put in while he was with Dallas.

They are ROH players. No way Zeke is even close to that level. Not even close

Jerry is cheapening the ROH if Zeke gets in.

The standard for the ROH has been lowered to the point where, if a player had a semi-decent career and Jerry can take credit for drafting him, he's in.

The ROH has become more of a tribute to Jerry Jones's prowess as a GM than a celebration of the greatest Dallas Cowboys in history.

The ROH was supposed to be even more exclusive than the HOF.
