Wait. There is a difference between ignorance and indifference. Jerry Jones cares most about what HE wants.

Troy Aikman and Jimmy Johnson are Cowboys fans. Those two Cowboys fans asked him would he put Johnson in the Ring of Honor. He said he would.

That is acknowledgement of what Cowboys fans wanted. Not doing what he said he would do indicates he does not care what Cowboys fans want. And honoring DeMarcus Ware with a Ring of Honor induction and celebrating Ezekiel Elliott with a lesser tribute of some kind, instead of honoring Johnson beforehand, shows just HOW MUCH he does not care what Cowboys fans think of the topic.

Jones may live in a bubble of super wealth and self-indulgence but he is not oblivious to what his fans want. He is narcissistic. Narcissists will do stupid things instead of making intelligent choices in order to satisfy their own desires. That does not automatically make them stupid. It certainly does not in this particular instance.
I totally agree . Not many bigger critics of Jethro Jone$ than me. But to his credit he didn’t say when Jimmy would be inducted.

And if fans recall in that interview when he said he would induct Jimmy, was asked when he didn’t answer specifically.

Fans all too often misinterpret his words just like in his comparison of Zeke to Emmitts return which wasn’t a comparison of their careers and accomplishments but rather their return playing for an opponent.

Emmitt is in a league of his own there's no comparison to Zeke. Stop the hyperbole.

Wait...is that what I said?

Lol...nope...not what I said at all...why would you argue that? Weird.
To shut down your nonsense, so take a seat in the back of the room. Go cheer for Zeke on the Pats website.

Where did Jethro compare Zeke to Emmitts career accomplishments?

Fans are reading more into what he said. He was just comparing their returns on an opposing team

While we wouldn't root for Elliott in this game obviously why would we root against him in other games which didn’t impact us?

Are we afraid his success on another team might not shine a bright light on us?

He's not a Cowboy, so what he does doesn't effect this team outside of his contribution Sunday.

He’s an ex- Cowboy. There’s always going to be an attachment.

But you’re right, what he does outside games which could impact the Cowboys doesn’t affect us. Why would we wish any ill will otherwise?

exactly. This guy is making lies up in his head then acting like the hero. Very weird.

I didn’t catch all of the post between y’all but not sure why so many fans misread what Jethro said. I guess people see what they want to see.

But he wasn’t t comparing their careers, etc., only the fact they both returned to play on opposing teams. I think the fact he mentioned was considering him for ROH fueled the misinterpretation.

Yep. Someone with a normal ego or an egomaniac is capable of this. People see this sort of thing happen with folks like that in their lives ALL the time. Right?

Not really. Normal egos and even egomaniacs do not carry grudges from their fifties into their eighties and highly likely to their grave. Most egos and egomaniacs bend. They bury hatchets. Certainly, they do not tell friends, peers, professional associates, etc.--and a national television audience to boot--they are going to do something, do not do it, and then actually do it or something similar for other people instead.

Narcissist.
Seems like Jerry is living in your head rent free, Sad! You really have zero idea of what went on between the two, what was lost and what was gained, what was said and what wasn’t. How you can even pretend to understand what went on between the two when you were nowhere near the action is absolutely fascinating to read. Carry on…

Yea, there’s been so much written and interviews on the break up as well as living thru it as it unfolded we didn’t have to be there. In effect we were.

Jimmy's latest book dedicated an entire chapter on the breakup with Jethro in his own words. I knew most but was quite chilling to read his own words in detail and how far back the problem with Jethro actually begun which was before we won the Super Bowls.

Jimmy jump up was just a grown man cry baby who could not tolerate having an actual boss. Jimmy could have had Jesus Christ as his boss and he still would have left after 5 years, he never had the heart for long term relationships. For the 5 years that we had him he was at his best, it was never going to be a 10 year affair. The beauty of being the King of the Universe is that you do not have to take unsolicited advices on what others deem to be important. It will happen when and if it happens and I can sleep quite comfortably with that.
