They used Johnny Manziel as a way of showing that Jerry listens to his scouts and advisors and doesn’t just do what he wants.

Jerry isn't drafting guys outside round 1.
Doesn't even know the players names man.
He isn't the GM in any real sense and most definitely is not the player personnel guy.
The last QB he tried to draft was Johnny Manziel.
Thankfully, he has no real draft pull and we took Zack Martin instead.

Jerry had zero to do with Dak or Romo being here.
He did have a lot to do with Troy being here because he agreed with Bob Ackles, overruling Jimmy.
He needed to sell jerseys and make money as he was leveraged to the hilt when he bought the team.

Quincy was here because of Larry Lacewell.

Dallas got lucky with Dak. They wanted other players in rounds 1 and 2 that were simply gone.

Cooper Rush has been a fine back up QB.

Going out and spending a high pick on a QB has been very inefficient for NFL teams. See GB and SF as examples.
Dallas model of bringing in a quality UDFA QB has been very solid.

Lots to complain about with Dallas mgmt, especially cap related mgmt but very hard to complain about the draft.

Eagles are trotting out a 2nd rounder and the 9ers are trotting out the very last pick in the draft.

If you can block and run the ball you don’t need an elite QB to win.

Pay attention to what’s going on and stop focusing on bad teams with QB struggles.

It's amazing to me how much Jerry and this FO undervalue the QB position. It's only the single most important position on the field.

I get it's hard to find a good QB, but you have to at least dig to find some gems. They lucked into Romo, and I can't hate on them for at least giving Dak a try, but they seemingly refuse to give the position the attention it needs outside late rounders and UDFA.

Jerry and his cronies continually concoct these narratives about Jerry/drafting during Jimmy's tenure.
Complete nonsense -- Jerry in 1989 had no knowledge about the draft, collegiate talent, scouting department, & pre-draft evaluation of players.

For 28 years, Jerry cannot escape the undeniable and undisputed fact that Jimmy was the sole and complete architect of 3 world championships (92, 93, and 95).
