Jets CB Dyson being shopped

Revis was not available at 22 or 26 where we ended up.

this is an example of year-ahead-of-time speculation screwing w/reality.

Although he's a decent starter, I wouldn't give him up. We finally seem to have a solid O-Line in place. IF we're to win this year, Romo must have the best o-line we can possibly field, which, at the moment, includes Kosier.....

i'm not a huge kosier fan but we've really got no one behind him and he's done "good enough" so far.

i'd also put dyson ahead of reeves regardless of simularities in body style. not sure why the jets are shopping him around but a 5th/6th wouldn't be a bad move to get a good vet in place.

what did the skins give up for the OL? at least dyson has some years left in him and could be henry like in his play. i'd take dyson / henry over henry / reeves.

no one got cut worth a flip so next move - make a move or hope the pass rush is good enough to help our weakened secondary.

Draft Darelle Revis Cowboys and we are not reading this thread tonight....

Or better yet, if Vinny C(that Skins GM) were our GM, we would have him AND Clements on our roster.:lmao2:

What do you think about Folk?

Sorry, OT yes, but I havent talked to you in awhile :p:
I wasn't surprised he beat out Grammy. I think he would have even if Grammy had not been injured. His kickoff hang time was better with the same depth and he had been more accurate on FG attempts. He's cheaper, younger, and better. A good combination. Plus I wrote the Cowboys about him after his first game last year, so I feel like I had a hand in it. A little bit anyway. He's still a kicker though.

Umm he was taken before Dallas could pick.. I believe they'll acquire someone via a trade.

I agree with the most part and would have kept Folk myself,...but I went back and checked the stats and they tell a different story(at least with the bolded text):

Gramatica - 8 Kickoffs, average depth to oppenent 0.5 yard line, two touchbacks(5 reached into the endzone) and an average return of 23.0 yards

Folk - 10 Kickoffs, average depth to opponent 6 yard line, 0 touchbacks(2 reached into the endzone), and an average return of 23.9 yards.

I don't have any stopwatch readings, but more times than naught, a higher kickoff results in less of a return. I'm sure someone timed the hangtime here, but the difference is less than a yard in average return, in Gramatica's favor...so not going to dispute this.

Just doing my due diligence Hos. Love ya man.

This is entirely true.

The criticism of Folk's kickoffs was the fact they did not have the same kind of hang-time that Gramatica's did.

acually had a pretty good year least season. If we can steal him for a guy like Proctor it would be a no brainer!

But let's keep in mind what many folks have been saying all along. If you draft a rookie K then he gets the job if it is close.

Gramatica last year was good with his KOs early and then faded as the season went on. Folk has room to develop. Gramatica isn't getting any better.

And let's keep in mind, Folk was outstanding on FGs.

We can't move Proctor b/c we are razor thin at G.

McQ was supposed to get a look there but had to play T most of TC and pre-season.

Give Folk a season adjusting to the nfl ball, tee, and kickoff spot and an offseason with Joe Jurasek and I think his kickoffs will be among the best in the league.

Koiser straight up

yeah, give up part of a solid left-side of the line, one that our backs averaged 4.9 ypc running behind

brilliant:rolleyes:

I like McQ and all, but I'd prefer he push Kosier off the team, not us give him away

Agreed. OL has plagued us for how long? And people want to give up a starting OL for a nickle (at best) CB?

When we might not have a starter to replace Kosier adequately?

Count me in on the "pass" crowd.

Giving up a 5th or 6th rounder for a third-CB would be doable imo. I'd make the swap if that's what it took to get Dyson. Upgrade over Nate Jones & Evan Ogelsby.....
