I haven't posted on a Cowboys forum since December. This news really saddens me. He was in my very humble opinion the best of the best. I kept hoping he'd quit or find a job outside of the NFC East. The ONLY thing I ever feared about the Eagles was his defensive mind. And now I feel terrible b/c he has always had my UTMOST respect. He was truly a genius. RIP and prayers to his family.

One of the best defensive minds to ever coach in this game. For sure a future HOF'er. Jim Johnson has terrorized the Cowboys franchise the last decade. Class act. RIP.

One other thing. You look at DC's like Jim Johnson and Dick LeBeau and you see the impact their defenses have on games. That Steeler D was as ferocious as its going to get last year but if there was one defense that I could say was more dominating while playing the Steelers last year, I would have to say it was Phillies.

Phillies D when playing the Steelers last year was as nasty as any team I saw in a single game. That's the legend Jim Johnson is. Out battled another legendary warrior like Dick LeBeau. The best of the best JJ.

This guy sounds like a fighter. I mean he JUST stepped down?

I wish his family well. Rest in peace to coach Johnson.

He sure was an absolute nightmare for our Cowboys and the division...

The thing that comes to mind for me is as follows..............

For all the complaining and whining and excuses made for McNabb and Reid for never winning a ring............that being that McNabb "never had a cast" sorrounding him, no recievers, etc............

McNabb and Reid had a TOP TIER defense for a decade!!! As much as I hate the Eggless, any Baltimore Raven offense would've won at least on ring by now with the defenses that this guy has engineered and coached over the years.

The Beagle defense has been, and STILL IS at or near the top in the league for a LOOOOOOOONNNNNGGGGG time now. Thanks to this guy. I NEVER want to hear another word from little Donny or his mammy about how the Eagles never gave him the tools to win. If the Ravens could win a ring on "D" only, then this Eagle team under Johnsons DC stuff could've easily won at least ONE!!
