That is too bad. My thoughts go out to his family. I hated seeing the Cowboys having to play against him but it was always because I respected the havoc he would bring to our Offense.

The NFL lost a champion today.

"And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Rev. 21:4

Sad sad day for all humankind.

I remember year after year, Johnson took an undersized defensive group that always seemed like a bunch of ordinary blue coller overachievers and got them to play like they were on fire. Unbelieveable defensive coaching year in and year out. God please grant the Johnson family peace and comfort.

If you are anything but the most casual Cowboy's fan, you knew who Jim Johnson was.

His defenses confounded, often suffocated, Dallas (and every other team) both physically and mentally, way more times than not.

I don't know what the guy was doing, but if you could bottle it and sell it, it would be a rock solid formula for coaching success.

I hope he didn't suffer.

One of the best DC's I've ever seen. RIP coach.

Your work here is done.

My heart goes out to the family of one of the great defensive minds the game has seen. I can't remember the last time I did not fear watching the cowboys play that Defense.

Seldom has a coach so thoroughly confounded and dominated the Cowboys. I always felt that the season in which the Cowboys could consistently move the ball against a Jim Johnson defense would be the season that would truly mark their return to prominence.

God bless Coach Johnson and his family.
