Jimmy: "That can only work if you have a good team, and I think the Cowboys are talented enough to be called a good team. But how many times, like against the Giants, do they beat themselves?

I miss Jimmy. hey Zrinkill, is it still not a trend?

Do they beat themselves in the same way every time?

I said that the only trend I have seen is poor head coaching.

Unless the trend you are talking about is poor head coaching .... and in that I agree.

I said the trend is they continue to make stupid mistakes that result in them losing games they should win. in other words beating themselves. so yes they beat themselves the same way almost every time.

Did you not see the lackadaisical way Felix came through that hole? That should have been coached out of him.

And Tony had a bad day ...... but its the head coaches job to make sure he does not compound his mistakes.

I do not even count the interception of Wittens heal ..... that was one of the biggest flukes I have ever seen.

the coaches can't play for these guys. Felix dropping the ball is his fault. the int off Wittens foot was a flukey thing but Romo threw it behind him. sometimes the players have to take responsibility for their mistakes.

Never said they didn't need to ..... and who's job is it to make sure they either do or get punished?

Are you serious? You do not think its the Head coaches job to see that a player either plays better or sit him down?

Punishment in sports is getting benched and if a player continuously plays poorly that player gets replaced. Having said that Romo has a career day in week 1 and then a poor game week 2 I doubt this or any other coaching staff out there would be looking to bench Romo at this stage

omg what does coaching have to do with Felix dropping the ball? it's fundementals. he knows he has to protect the ball better and not be so lazy. he's known this since pop warner. same thing with Romo making bad throws. you can coach him up all you want but he's still gonna make bad throws from time to time. Is coaching part of the problem with the consistent dumb mistakes? absolutely! But the players share the blame

<sigh>

A sloppy team is the sign of a poorly prepared team ...... if it where the same players every time I would blame them .... its always someone different which in turn falls back on the coaches.

Aw, what does he know about football, or quarterbacks?? I mean, he already had Troy Aikman, and still drafted Steve Walsh...

Jimmy's an excellent talent evaluator. At the "U" Jimmy developed Jim Kelly, Vinny Testaverde, and while Walsh wasn't a good NFL caliber QB, he excelled at Miami. He drafted Walsh in the supplemental draft since the backup QBs sucked in Dallas.
