With no previous NFL experience of any kind, Jimmy took over a failing team, accepted they were gonna bottom out, built them back through astute trades, FA and the draft...and then won 2 SBs — in only 5 seasons!? — while having to put up with Jerry Jones.

As much as I love the Cowboys and the 90's Cowboys, I don't think Jimmy is deserving of being in the HOF.
His career was not long enough to establish that he was worthy of that honor.
He definitely deserves to be in the Cowboys Ring of Honor but not the HOF

Jimmy is definitely a HOF worthy coach. Besides winning multiple Super Bowls, he created a trade/value chart that the entire NFL used for a while, and may still be using some semblance of it today. He also coined the phrase "HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS! "
