I think that is exactly what he is saying. He is saying he would not cut Dez but he would probably fine him and tell him he (Jimmy) was very disappointed in him. Makes me wonder, though, who JG would cut...
...with Jerry's permission, of course.
How do you discipline a guy like Dez? I don't think fines are going to do it.I think that is exactly what he is saying. He is saying he would not cut Dez but he would probably fine him and tell he (Jimmy) was very disappointed in him. Makes me wonder, though, who JG would cut...

But Jimmy loved his Pepsi...Don't take that way from him!!Fixed it for you...............
He must have Jerry on his boatJimmy is drinking early today I see.......
He cut TO and that was right after Jerry had given TO a big payday.

I think you run the old MTV music video "Shock the Monkey" by Peter Gabriel. That might just get him to those meetings and practice on time.
I think everyone will agree T.O., not unlike Greg Hardy, was persona non grata by everyone at the Ranch. I don't think that is the case with Dez at the Star.
Nor do I at this time. I have to say I am disappointed that Dez did not go to the scheduled MRI and then missing a meeting. I think the Cowboys have addressed this situation with Dez and are moving on. Dez himself has acknowledged he was wrong and handled it poorly.
I believe Dez is sincere about his remorse but I also believe he will do it again because that is who he is.
As great as Jimmy Johnson was, as the years go by, he is getting overrated. The legend of who he was as a coach keeps growing and growing. Same thing with Parcells.
I also believe it's his nature just to do what he wants, when he wants. Not out of retribution to the team but he's just never been disciplined when he was younger and does not understand the ramifications of his actions until afterwards. Then does not learn from it to not do it again but learns that an apology and a slap to his wallet will get him off the hook until next time.I believe Dez is sincere about his remorse but I also believe he will do it again because that is who he is.

Johnson: "He’s fine [without Bryant]. Dez, you know, gives you the big plays and you have to have the explosive plays. Just like yesterday on FOX NFL Sunday, Terry Bradshaw said ‘I wouldn’t bring [Tony] Romo back in. I would stay with Prescott.’ Even though he’s my good buddy, I disagree with him. Against the great teams, against the really great teams in this league, they’re not good enough defensively to live with their offensive approach right now. Tony Romo gives them the big plays. He’s going to turn the ball over more, but he gives them the big plays...and right now I don’t think the Cowboys are good enough defensively to beat the top teams in the league. They’re very efficient, offensively, and they can run the football and they can score some points, but they’re going to have to be better than that as a total team if they’re going to beat the better teams in the league.
He’s got a great supporting cast, a great offensive line and the top running back in the league right now and that’s allowing him to be somewhat conservative and protect the football. That’s what he’s doing so good right now. He’s protecting the football and he’s utilizing the talent around him."
You discipline someone like Dez by benching him. Illustrate that his behavior is hurting the team, on the field. How do you discipline a guy like Dez? I don't think fines are going to do it.
