No More Coaching for Jimmy Johnson --
Fri Jan 19, 2007 --from FFMastermind.com

The Los Angeles Times reports Fox Sports Jimmy Johnson, 63, he has another year left on his contract. After that, who knows? "When you get to be my age, everything is year by year," he said. But when asked about possibly coaching again, he emphatically said, "No."

Sorry to burst some peoples bubbles but this is what I and many others have been saying for a while.
what a surprise.

it's ironic some of the Tuna haters really want another fat, old, year-to-year coach who's hasn't won a superbowl in almost 15 years

LOL

fyi - this tuna hater wants a young, hungry coach who wants to win, not use a "system" regardless of it's success or applicability.

He doesn't look 63. Parcells looks 65. Jimmy looks 55ish.

Jimmy could never figure out how to win with a salary cap and without Jerry's checkbook .......

True, and also one of the big reasons for the difference in his results in Dallas and Miami is that he came to Dallas straight from UM and he was familiar with many of the players who either played for him, were recruited by him or played for his opponents and so many were known quantities to him and by the time he got to the Dolphins, he no longer knew the college players and lost his drafting advantage.

Hopefully this will end the plethora of "Jimmah, please come back" posts we get here after every loss and during every offseason.

I wonder if he will come back to coach the Cowboys after Parcells leaves?

Names please....

You do know that a coach, young or old, has a "system", right?

That's "neighbour" actually.

Main Entry: 1neigh·bor
Pronunciation: 'nA-b&r
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Old English nEahgebur (akin to Old High German nAhgibur); akin to Old English nEah near and Old English gebur dweller -- more at NIGH, BOOR
1 : one living or located near another
2 : FELLOW MAN

See, why do you Barristers need to use an extra letter.."u" in this case?

I don't think anyone *really* thought Jimmy would come back...

But did anyone hear him on Mike & Mike this morning? It sure was refreshing to hear his attitude. He said he got his team relaxed for playoff games by preparing them the best... Jimmy compared it to being relaxed for a test you know you've studied well for. (We've heard that from him in the past.)

But he also said that he always did something to give his team confidence. He said he would always highlight at least one area of the game where he could demonstrate to his team that they were superior, so they would feel confident going in. And he said he always had some "momentum-changer" plays ready in case things started badly for his team, and he let his team know what they would be beforehand so they would expect it.

In other words, Jimmy was all about making his team feel good about themselves and filling them with confidence going in to a big game. Contrast that with Parcells' attitude that confidence is only borne of demonstrated ability, his obsession with keeping the team "grounded", and his claim that overconfidence is one of the biggest obstacles his team can face.

I know the Parcells Defense Team will bash me for it, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

There is absolutely no resemblance of talent on this team or any team in the NFL compared to the team Jimmy coached. None. kinda makes a world of difference.

IF?...Jerry ever REALLY wanted Jimmy to Coach the Cowboys again...He would!

Americans are the only English speakers not to use a "u" in words such as favour or neighbour.

Ever considered you might be wrong (and no, having more nuclear weapons than anyone else does not make your spelling correct).

I considered it, and no we arent wrong, there is no need for the U, and the dictionary does not have the U in it

No Jimmy huh? Good. He's proven that he's just an average coach without Jerry, and with FA, Salary cap, etc.........(See: Miami Dolphins with Dan Marino). Show me the evidence that he's a great as he and many think he is other than those "once in a lifetime" days in Dallas.
Well.....................we're waiting................

No need for the u, that's a good one. It is probably also just an American English dictionary. Check out an Oxford one, the u is probably there.

Coaches lie as often as they blink. Jimmy will be back in coaching if the price is right.
