Jimmy Said It. We Are An Unfocused and Undisciplined Team...

ummm, if you read what I said, I said his version of the 3-4 is old fashioned. I still want the 3-4, just a younger newer verion of it..

the scheme doesnt matter...its how its coached

but as FYI, the Pats were a 4-3 team in 2001, and they played mostly a 4-3 defense when they beat Philthy that day too...they go back anf forth between the two styles

but there is no comparison between how we play the 3-4 and teams like SD, NE pr Pitt...those teams attack and create mismatches, we dont...this is the most vanilla defense I've ever seen

Not me, Mikey.

I love the guy.

He's a hall of fame coach, ya know?

Gee what a surprise, we lose and he is back to good old "boobs"

I've said I can't stand him even when we win.

Of course, if we use our time outs and Washington makes a first down, we're not having this discussion.

What's that saying about hindsight? ;)

That's not the isssue at all. The question is about time. In either scenario you are assuming your D will hold them and not give up a first down.

If not for Romo's great play we would never have even had time to attempt a FG in regulation to win it. I think most any other HC would have rather had 1 or zero TOs and 1:40 or so to go in the game than to have 2 T.O.s and only :33 seconds to go in the game.

False starts from Witten and Fasano for the umpteenth week in a row,

Witten had 1 false start and we wound up scoring a TD on the drive anyway. Fasano had 1 false start that lost us a total of less than a yard.

Messed up blocking assignments,

Outside of the last FG, this really wasn't an issue.

As bad a loss as last year's Monday Night game against the Skins.

Last year's was worse. Last year Dallas destroyed Washington for 55 straight minutes. This year Dallas controlled the game, but in particular the 2nd half. And Washington, especially Brunnell played pretty well for most of the game. We still handed them a victory, but I don't see this as nearly as bad as last year's.

Hard to say if the team is undisciplined when they fight hard every game which this team clearly does. We are just untimely, and have been for two years now. This is on the players, not Parcells.

If we are fighting hard, and get beat by an inferior team then they aren't really 'inferior' are they. Our talent is lacking (Henry looked bad today). Or, we are undisciplined and make penalties...or both. It wasn't on Parcells.

Now Michael you are being a little harsh on the old man. :D

Focus & undiciplined........Ummm Those are traits that should come from the coach.

Agreed. And I don't know why he gets a pass because of what he has done in the past. That is the past people, the presents he is 4-4 with a team that is capable of being better. The "HOF coach" has to take some blame. If he was so freaking good, the Cowboys would be too. jmo

Parcells hasn't won a Super Bowl in nearly 20 years. This means to me that his defensive philosophy of the 3-4 is completely 80's. This 80's 3-4 is not gonna get it done.

Parcells is washed up, let him be a cowboys scout, and let's move on. We have great parts on this team, we need a new philosophy, a 2006 version.

I hate the 3-4, never liked it never will. It's a big pile of garbage defense especially if you don't have the personnel or the aggressiveness to run it the way it should be.

nope, it just isnt there. no focus, no ability to close out games, Romo looked good, but the team just doesnt have it.

Well, I always quote him on his performance...."You are what your record says you are" I think four years is long enough for us to say that he's been mediocre.

AND..."No matter what you've done in the past, sooner or later you have to show you can still get the job done"

Again, as I've said a million times, I used to truly like the guy. He was one of my favorite coaches.

Jimmah can kiss my a**. He revels in Cowboys losses since he left. Maybe he wants to come back? I see no other reason to berate Parcells like he did in the postgame.

Parcells did not lose this game for us. Other than one bad play call, it was strictly all about penalties although other than the TO nap, I didn't see anything "egregious".

Hard to say if the team is undisciplined when they fight hard every game which this team clearly does. We are just untimely, and have been for two years now. This is on the players, not Parcells.

Huh?

When everyone said we'd be distracted against Tennessee because of TO, Jimmy vehemently said the Cowboys wouldn't be distracted. After the blowout win, he gloated about how good the team looked.

I've hardly gotten the impression he revels in the Cowboys' losses.

This team is undisciplined, and it continues to make the same stupid mistakes. It is always something that goes wrong. That all goes back to coaching.Parcells deserves every bit a criticism he gets.Rather Jimmy Johnson revels in a cowboy loss,or not, today he just told the truth.

Hey...stop trying to confuse the discussion with facts, ok?

If people want to whistle through the graveyard by claiming mass anti-cowboy plots, from the media and the refs, that's their right.

:D

I actually think Jimmy gets ticked off when we blow these games like we have against Philly and the Skins. He makes me think he still cares. Hmm....

That half-yard means no safety.
