McClain isn't getting paid. DMC can be cut.
they cost us 5m in cap space.....it may get recovered or it may not.....fining them for missing camp or screwing around and breaking arm might send mixed signals to these fragile souls

It would be one thing hoping to get something out of McClain this year during the playoff run and another to count on him next season. We have already counted on him this season, so whatever you get this year out of him (if anything) is like finding money in the cushions of your couch. It is the same with Gregory.

If you have the roster space (undetermined) when they are ready to come back, and say they could give you 10 quality snaps each per game and have a bigger impact than what the Cowboys currently have then you start looking at if they can help you. The risk this year is minimal and the potential reward great.

Next year the analysis is very different. You know both are unreliable AND there will be options in free agency and the draft to fix their unreliability by moving on from each of them. But for this year, that ship has sailed, so if you can get something out of them by using duct tape and baling wire ...... you do it if it works for you in the short run.

In the somewhat distant past, like in the first year, Ro McClain was a blessing. In year two, his performances were inconsistent and sometimes even subpar in their value. I have serious doubts that his drug concerns have been duly corrected and eliminated to the point where he would be capable of delivering as he once did. We'll see what develops in the weeks to come. Not sure how the majority feels here or if it even matters.

It appears Jerry hasn't given up entirely on him as yet but I would imagine the FO will look into whatever his situation is and act accordingly. Let's see what develops with the passage of due time to determine what that situation presents with (or without) him going forward. Personally, I'm not confident in his "turning over a new leaf" but willing to try to keep an open mind, nevertheless, as difficult as that may be. We'll see what gives.

No mention of Gregory. Broaddus said he's been at the facility.

Unfortunately this is a business and not UNICEF and the money he is wasting on McClain and McFadden could have been used on
Cameron Wake Doesn't offer much as a pass rusher anymore

or Sheldon Richardson A guy who is a failed drug test away from a suspension

or Jamie Collins a guy that was traded by the patriots for nothing. These guys never pan out see McClain

To me the front office is doing what it has done for the past 4 years which has put us in this winning atmosphere. I am fine with not making a move for someone elses garbage or problems.

Everyone speaking about RoMac like they actually know the person or the Cowboys organization cares about your opinion. The Cowboys will do what they do when he is ready to play and if he is anywhere near game shape you better believe he suits up, it literally a no risk extremely high reward scenario. Regardless if it hurts some fans feelings.

This. Also, I hate it when fans take the stance of throwing players out with the trash. There isn't redemption without adversity and hardship.

There's a point where this goes beyond adversity. McClain has gone well past that point. At some point it's not hardship with him. It's stupidity.

I think JJ didn't mention Gregory because he's not in the same category as the two guys he mentioned. Smith has the injury. Ro has been rumored to never be coming back, no locker at the practice facility, etc. Gregory was always coming back after the suspension, no reason to mention it.

That could be. I'm not counting on him but I'm sure rooting for him.

We are basically paying Rolondo by the game played, so I don't see any problem bringing him back if he's into it and in any reasonable semblance of shape. This guy basically came off the couch in 2014 and if I remember correctly was making an impact in the first games he played. He is one of those physically gifted guys who really doesn't need hours in the gym. I can't imagine what he would be if he had any work ethic, but that's neither here nor there.

If he's been doing any workouts at all with trainers recently, I'd give him a shot in games, there isn't much downside. The team has too many leaders for him to upset the momentum cart IMO. He's easily cut if he doesn't look good or creates a diversion. I trust the team management on this one.

There are 75 lockers at the new facility. People need to get over the no name on the locker....there were 90 players at the time when this came out.
So I am sure there are only 63 names now, 53 plus 10 PS, then add the injured players, PUP.
Maybe he has a name now since there are open lockers. LOL.

Maybe Ro is in shape, no one on here knows that for sure. Even though they think they do. Unless you have some photos. Recent photos.
I do not think he will be on the team. But like JJ, you can't rule it out. It's like Jason saying "day to day"

Are we intentionally ignoring all the reports of McClain being a 280-pound opiate addict who has opted not to show up for any sort of training or meetings even when he was allowed to do so?

I doubt jerry would say that without knowing some things we dont know about Ro.
I dont think he would say that if Ro was still chugging the purple drank.

Why would you doubt that? He lies all the time just to fuel media speculation.

Once he gets a locker back I'll believe he may provide some production for the Cowboys. Until then, it's all empty words IMO.
