Kerry Champion said she talked to JJ at an event and he raved about johnny. Said he thought he was the best player in the draft and would take him if he could.

Come on, mayne.

She works for ESPN on 1st take with Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith.

Could there be anybody with less credibility?

I think Jerry in his heart really believes this and I think if JM is close Jerry pounces on it. Jerry is going to look at the next 10-12 and know he got his new toy to play in his big shiny doll house

Well if she said she heard or she had a source then I see your point. She said she jj told her this. When people use heard and source they can just make it up and not worry. She didn't do that. Up to you to believe it or not. Its not like there is eveidence that jj feels that way.

JJ isn't the only one with ties to the Cowboys that Likes him:

Gil Brandt:

"1. Johnny Manziel, QB, Texas A&MPrevious rank: 1
Manziel (5-foot-11 3/4, 205 pounds) is a unique athlete who produced 10,000 yards of offense in two seasons with the Aggies. I had his 40 timed at 4.56 seconds at the combine. He's a very smart player and has great vision at quarterback."

Roger Staubach:

NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Roger Staubach said he would take Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel over South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney with the No. 1 pick.

Both Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith are known for making thing up that are completely untrue.

JJ told this lady on the biggest tabloid show in sports something that he has not told any of the local reporters?

Jerry says stupid things all the time. He once said Claiborne had the best skill he'd seen since Deion. All the other GM's are counting on Jerry to make these kinds of judgements.

I'm not here to convince you. Lol I heard it and I posted it. I don't know why its hard to believe he thinks this. He's spoken publicly about how much he like johnny and he thinks he will be a star in the league. So this shouldn't suprise anyone. He was asked at the combine would he draft him. He said he's not worried about it because he will be long gone by the time they picked. That want a no lol. Again take it how you want.

Plus Lacewell said he loves him... And he flatly said that Jerry "has a mancrush" on Manziel.

Also, I've heard Jackie Sherrill say he loved him, and Jackie has indirect ties to JJ through Jimmy and others.

BTW, am I the only one who when he saw "JJ" first thought "Jimmy Johnson"?

That wasn't just jj. That was the scouting dept that said he had the highest grade for a cb since sanders.

I have believed all along that if Johnny is sitting there at 16, Jerry Takes him. He is what Jerry calls a "wow" player.

Not what I want but I would expect it if he is available at 16.

That's why any of the fanspeak mocks I do (and I do plenty when bored) and he is available at 16...I take him and see who the rest of the draft might fall. Again, not because I want him taken, but because I believe he will be taken if he is there at 16.

The only way Jerry would pass up Johnny at 16 is if someone gave him a trade offer that was just too good to be true in his mind.
