Jerry gave up a 1st and a 2nd to move up to get Claiborne. He's the GM. He's responsible. Whether he got his info on his own or from the scouts makes no difference.

Sigh.

That is not what JT said.

A poster said that JJ said that Claiborne had the best ball skills since Sanders.
JT responded by saying that JJ never said that. He said that JJ said that the Scouts told him he was the highest graded CB for them since Sanders.

You respond to JT saying he was wrong.

YOU were wrong.

It has nothing to do with how many picks JJ used to pick the player, I has nothing to do with his responsibility. It is about whether JJ said he had the best ball skills since sanders vs he did not but the scouts said he had the best grade for them since sanders.

Jerry's the GM and responsible is all I'm saying. You're just nit-picking.

If Johnny dropped to 16, Jerry would run the card up to New York from Valley Ranch, barefoot, and have 5 minutes to spare!

Well maybe you should read what JT said instead of going into an argument telling someone they are wrong when they are not. I don't think that is nit picking at all. It's called getting it right.

I honestly believe Jerry thinks this and believes this which is why I won't be shocked if for some reason he falls to 16 and he isn't blown away with a trade offer he will take him.

This isn't the first time (if true, and she's met Jerry and talked to him before, she has a picture with him so it's not that far-fetched) that Jerry was gushed about Johnny. He did an interview on the Ben and Skins show back around the 25th anniversary where he just went on and on about how awesome he is and about how there is no way we could get him even if we traded the next two drafts for him. Good for Jerry if he's blowing smoke because it's catching on.

I wouldn't take Johnny at 16 but he might.

LOL. I'll be rolling on the floor with laughter if Manziel slips and we take him.

In all seriousness, if JJ takes Manziel that tells me something is awry with Romo. You don't waste a first round pick on a QB if you plan on him riding the pine for 2-3 years.

Arron Rodgers has worked out pretty well. It appears to me that letting a QB ride the pine for a couple of seasons is good seasoning.

Yep, Rodgers sat for 3 WHOLE years behind Favre...How did that work out? @16 I take Manziel, small contracts these days for 1st rounders, no longer 100m $ deals. You would have him ready to start in yr 4 and he would be on a rookie 5yr deal. Can go DL plenty after rnd 1.

I don't doubt for a second Johnny Manziel is a great college football player, but the NFL is on another level. Way faster than the college game. Johhny will struggle at the next level, maybe not in his first year but after one season teams will figure him out and all this superman talk of Manziel will end. JMO

I really don't see Manzel slipping to 16 when there are about 10 teams in front of us that need a QB. Unless Manzel has flipped them all off or something, I just don't see how he would fall that far.

Now do I believe Jerry would take him at 16..................Yes, I do...............but I am 99% sure he will go in the top 10.

The media loves to get the ball rolling with Jones...I wonder if they asked him the question "what would you do if Mack was available?" what about clowney?

nope, the question that gets the biggest bang for the buck is "What if Manziel is there?"

Kerry Champion said she talked to JJ at an event and he raved about johnny. Said he thought he was the best player in the draft and would take him if he could.

Best player to make money off for Jerry's world.

What's it going to be then, eh?

The only way Jerry would pass up Johnny at 16 is if someone gave him a trade offer that was just too good to be true in his mind.
That would be optimal. Say a team like Cleveland wants him, they could offer up a nice package of choices.

Assume that happens, and he takes Manziel anyways. I can only imagine the chaos. It would be thrilling to watch the panic in the streets.

As teams have stated, they set up their trades LONG in advance in the event certain scenarios occur...thus, I would hope that Dallas already has a trade on the table with Cleveland if one of the QB's they want are still there

We could have the same soundless show of the scout/head scout getting mad with JJ son while JJ and son explain things and the HC sits on the other side with a look of why me on his face. After JJ and son realize the draft cam is on they leave the room. You know... Like last year. We could then have posters tell us we don't know that there was disappointment and disagreements in the war room because we could not hear and the media was making too much of it even though anyone who saw it knew it was not good.

With all of that said, if the picks worked out like the beard and Williams... Maybe it would be OK.

Johnny's not getting past 5 teams with QB needs that pick before us (CLE, JAX, TB, MIN, & TEN) imo so the point is moot.

Yea, last year was comical watching Garrett sit there all pissed after they decided to pass on Floyd.
