various:
if you want manziel to truly excel you want to give him a year on the bench.
not two or three but definitely the one(or most of one).
let him add another 10 pounds of muscle and learn the scheme inside out.
he is a fit in dallas just from the perspective they have a QB here for AT LEAST 1 more year.
also from the perspective that TR is not playing forever and if this is a 5 or 6 win team in 2014 bringing him back in 2015 would be painful.
IF this is a 6 or less win team you expect that top 10 pick needs to become an elite pass rusher looking at current talent and needs.
So having the QB in line to take over makes sense. for a front office thinking a couple chess moves ahead that should be a mild consideration.
ALL THAT SAID, there really is no reason for a QB who is probably the 15th to 20th best overall player to drop out of the top 10. He is a QB. That's huge value modifier via position. So he won't be there at 16 unless teams somehow hate QBs all of a sudden and owners decided ot hate money....
JM is my 2nd ranked QB after Bridgewater(lower ceiling but much higher floor and day 1 guy) but I absolutely believe with Dallas situation he is their top QB and likely a very high overall ranked player. I do not believe he is their dream scenario guy however. I think that is Donald. A lot was put in place to go to a 4-3 and the key piece is an elite young 3T. Henry Melton can fill that role but he isn;t truly elite, just good at it, and to keep him will be very expensive if he does excel. If you could rotate Melton and Donald then play them togethe ron 3rd and longs... yea, that'd be pretty sweet and offer immediate reward on the field.
But much like Manziel above that is unlikely to happen if only because Donald should go before 16.
