Wilcox is only the second player from Georgia Southern to ever be invited to the Senior Bowl. The first:
Adrian Peterson.

Again...they did not get your boy. So many teams had multiple chances to get your boy and they passed. There are reasons for that.

Deal with it.

My goodness Brain ....aren't you being a little hard on the beaver? LOL. Just because he is taking an adamant or unpopular stance doesn't make him wrong.

Does not make him wrong.

Just annoying for continuing this prior to the draft and after the draft as this guy Rambo was the be all end all for the cowboys and safety world in the draft...which is great considering so many teams passed him by multiple times.

If Wilcox isn't starting at some point this year he's a flop. I WANT him to be what people are saying but Rambo will be making plays ASAP. You people think I just want to be right but that's not true. I'm tired of drafting bum safeties. Like Ware said its put up or shut up time for everyone. Players and front office people. I heard they were doing cartwheels about getting Wilcox. Show me why. Not 3 years from now. Smh

Here are some FACTS for you. Out of all 3rd round DP's last year only 17 of the 32 started even a single game for there team. And of those 17 only 6 even could have been considered a regular starter by the end of the year, and one of those 6 was a punter.

Sorry, your are an idiot if you think anyone drafted in round 3 that is not starting in year 1 a bust...

Round 4 is Wilcox. :laugh2:

So those already slim odds went down.

Actually Wilcox was a 3rd round pick, just the second of our 2-3rd round DP's.

But you are very right about the already slim odds going down. Wilcox was the 80th pick in the draft this year. There where 16 players drafted from pick 80 to the end of the 3rd round last year. Only 8 of those 16 started as many as 1 game. And 3 of those started just a single game last year. And those remaining 5 that started any games at all where:
Jayron Hosley - CB Giants (the only one even CLOSE to being considered a full time regular starter for his team), and he started 6 of the 12 games he played in.
Nick Foles - QB Eagles (He started 6 of the 7 games he played in, as Michael Vicks backup.
John Hughes - DT Browns - He started 2 of the 16 games he played in
Bill Bentley - DB Lions - He started 3 of the 4 games he played in
Mohamed Sanu - WR Bengals - He started 3 of the 9 games he played in.

So at BEST, and even that is being VERY generous to Hosley one of the 16 guys taken from pick 80 to the end of the 3rd round would actually be considered a regular starter for their team at the end of the year.

Yep, It is a big leap to the NFL. Heck when they go from high school to college most kids do not start as true freshmen. Yes some do most don't and that leap from high school to college is not the same as the leap to the NFL.

Yea except Rambo was a three year starter, all sec all american. Had he not been suspended there is a good chance he would have been the first safety taken. By fat the most productive guy that came out this year.

Honestly none of us know who will be better right now, but it is easy to say we are literally just hoping based on potential with wilcox. He played against inferior talent and only one year. To say he is raw is an understatement. However mayock and kiper like him so hopefully they are right! Im pulling for him.

So did the NFL scouts. But what do they know?

As for Rambo, even the Commanders didn't think he was the best safety in the draft. Otherwise they would not have taken Phillip Thomas first in the fourth round.

I seriously doubt Rambo starts this year and is anything more than a special teams player. He would need to beat out the current starter at FS and Phillip Thomas in order to make it happen. Considering that he is a 6th round rookie, the odds of that happening are stacked against him.

Then as I showed above, you don't know anything. Which isn't exactly a shock.

Who are those "many others"?

So you get pissed if he doesn't start by years end, then what?

Obviously not. I don't have a grudge against him. I want playmakers back there.

As for the an then what comment made by the other poster, the same thing that happens when people cry about Jerry, nothing. If our safeties are trash again and one of the safeties we passed are balling I'm sure you guys will just say (give Wilcox two more years guys). Funny cowboy fans.
