Let's be honest, if we drafted Rambo and the Commanders drafted Wilcox we would be laughing at them and they would be claiming Wilcox is the greatest. Fact is no one knows what either will be. Both are huge question marks at best.

UDFA Jakar Hamilton was on the verge of beating out either Rambo or Shawn Williams for a starting job at Georgia but was forced to transfer due to academic problems.

Yes, and he was good enough to be a middle round draftee. What I hear is he's a bit of a knucklehead. I wonder if he's matured and he's coachable. He has the talent to play in the NFL. I wonder about his technique (a knock on him) and the coaching he got. I think he can play CB and S. He has the speed and range to play S for Kiffin. He just has so many guys in front of him. If he doesn't make the team I hope he can make it to the PS. And I hope he makes the most of the opportunity.

I tell you what I know. If he isn't starting by years end myself along with many others will be pissed.

And all you should care about is that the best safeties are starting and performing.

Obviously not. I don't have a grudge against him. I want playmakers back there.

As for the an then what comment made by the other poster, the same thing that happens when people cry about Jerry, nothing. If our safeties are trash again and one of the safeties we passed are balling I'm sure you guys will just say (give Wilcox two more years guys). Funny cowboy fans.

The average percentage of rookies that start in the NFL is only 3%. The majority of those starters come from the first round. As you move from second, to third, to forth, and so on, the starters get significantly fewer. The starters that do come from rounds three and below usually take two to three years to develop. That's just the way it works in the NFL. So to expect anyone from the third round to come in and start day one is far fetched and unrealistic, let alone a sixth rounder. On occasion, there will be an exception to the rule, but those are few and far between.

This is a Kiffin pick to me,he was there at the senior bowl practices and he must have been really impressed with Wilcox.

I'd rather watch game tape

Fans don't have access to game "tape". We only have access to game footage from TV broadcasts. Game tape is the All-22 view.

Unless you recorded his games, there is not much video available of his game footage.

...got any video on this kid? I'm intrigued in a big way....thanks:starspin

.......btw: I don't know HOW to differentiate from a kid like Wilcox and Rambo. I mean, Wilcox played at a very small school and the competition was not too great. Rambo played in the SEC.....which most would say guarantees success in the NFL but of course we all could name hundreds of guys that have flopped in pro ball that played in the $EC. Jerry Rice and others would certainly tell you it doesn't make a difference...same with Miles Austin (ONLY time I'll bring up those two in the same conversation).......SO my question is this: how does an organization like Pittsburgh decide to go mostly big school on their draft picks and others go with a diverse mix of picks from schools that are big and small, like Dallas does? Philosophy of the front office and pro personnel guys I suppose.

Thank you! That's all this thread is. Neither has played a down or even practiced yet. Yet you nearly all of the rest of you are ready to anoint one or the other better based on what Kiper says or what they did in the senior bowl.

I don't know about Wilcox because I haven't seen much of him other than highlights, but from watching Rambo play sevreral times I don't believe he can cover NFL WRs. He just isn't quick enough. If he makes it in the NFL I'd bet it's as a STer. It's too hard to hide a safety weak in coverage in today's NFL.

Not quick enough based off of what? 40 time?

Has anyone watched wilcox play in a single game outside of the senior bowl? Im willing to bet I am the only one on here who has even seen him play.

Just ignore his opinion. He is a vols fan, so naturally he hates rambo. You dont get 18 interceptions by being slow and bad in coverage like his is trying to say. Clearly he is letting his sec hatred cloud his logic loll

To be quite honest I didnt even notice him. Granted it was uga vs ga southern so they were outmatched. So ive seen that and the senior bowl. I havnt gotten to see him much either. I was hoping we had a ga southern alumni on here. He lookrd good at the senior bowl but the ga vs gsu game I dont remember him standing out at all. But that probably is more of an indictment on his team and not him.

Cool, thanks. I was hoping you had seen him a lot.

He did look good in the Senior bowl and the SB practices and some good talent evaluators loved the guy, that that is really good.

If that GA/GA S game was early, I'm sure Wilcox was still feeling his way around because it was his first season at safety.
