we are NOT more talented than the Giants. First of all..they have a Super Bowl winning head coach..and a head coach who did good things at other stops prior to New York. Their offensive coordinator and QB have been together how long? They are better in the trenches, where games are one and lost. Our WR corps are not even close from a draft pedigree perspective. Nicks, 1st round. Smith, Manningham, Moss 2nd round. While we have Roy Williams and a cast of converted QBs, 7th rounders or just plain undrafted. Their secondary before Phillips was hurt is ALSO better than ours. They won a Super Bowl a couple of years ago for a reason. They won 12 - 13 games last year for a reason. They are 5-0 for a reason. So do I think we can beat them? Yes! Should I EXPECT to beat them? No! Why should I? Because you or the Dallas media CLAIM we are more talented?
I said we're more talented. Not a better team. There's a big difference.

JJT has said before he is not a fan of the Cowboys he is a writer of the DMN it is his job. He gives his opinion that is all. JJT is not all knowing and all seeing he is a writer who give his view points.

That's absolutely comical.

First JJT was part of that clamoring. Did you read his Romo article???
So is he "beacon of truth" or emotionally unstable??. you tell me.

We are not more talented than the Giants who have large advantages in talent at certain positions. They are far stronger along the DL and Cory Webster is light years ahead of our best CB.

All your post proves is because unrealistic goals are attached to the team it is then OK to blast them when they play at a realistic level. Good game there.

What exactly did you predict the team's record to be for this year?

I love how guys predict 9-7 and then complain every week as they go 9-7 and say they underachieved....

JJT is a lazy buffoon who takes the easy way out to get his name mentioned. He does 80% of his job from the cell phone and even when he attended Cowboy practices as a beat Writer ignored the practice waiting around to grab some quotes while ordinary fans offered up play by play.

I am of a similar age to JJT, went to school in Oak Cliff, and new a number of people at Skyline. I'd love to support JJT but he is a talentless hack of the worst order. I don't expect all roses and sunshine and writers like Bob Sturm or Albert Breer proved NON-COWBOY fans make very good Cowboy writers.

In case you haven't hear Breer was just hired by the Boston Globe! Guess they beat us in covering their football team too.

My point is certainly not to say JJT is great, good or even good enough. I just think that when he makes a fair point (like 13-12) it ought to be acknowledged, discussed, and not disparaged just because it came from him.

Do I think his overall column here today is good. No. Do I think he has some valid points that I wish more people would acknowledge and discuss rationally? Yes. But too often, his and many writers works, along with opinions on this site are simply shredded from head to toe as if there is no value or soundness to them at all.

I find it interesting that so far this year pundits seem to believe that Dallas is both overrated and underachievers. One indicates, not as talented as alleged. The other talented beyond their accomplishments. They're kind of opposites.

On one hand we're viewed as middle of the pack amongst most Power Rankings and yet a win over us is pointed to as legitimizing the 5-0 Broncos.

But wow are we ever discussed.

So six different Cowboys came to Romo's defense after JJT wrote an anti-Romo piece.

I like it.

You know, he could have simply said, "I write what I want and how I want. If you don't like it, don't read it." and saved us all several minutes of time.

EDIT: And I don't hate JJT like many fans do, but I will admit that him having the need to justify his articles with a very long article in itself is a reflection of the attitude that many fans and players have toward him.

Seriously.

That came off as a writer nearing a breakdown trying to defend himself and justify his writing.

A near meltdown.

Has it really gotten so bad with him that he needs to do this?

So I make my opinion strong. It's blunt. It's in-your-face. If that rubs some of you the wrong way, then I'm sorry but it's not changing.

Is he using sarcasm or is he for reals? "Hey people I'm mean. I really am." He's having trouble convincing himself. LOL.

I love how proud he is of his inability to write based on facts. At least he's gotten over the idea he's a journalist. Don't worry JTT, I'm sure Star Magazine and the other tabloids will take notice of your pension for drama soon.

I wonder what prompted that? JJT is a really good guy. I respect him a lot. Must be taking a lot of criticism.

He's write about the difference between a columnist and a journalist. Not sure why he feels the need to defend that.

This isn't the first time, he did it last year too, if memory serves.

So does JJT realise we are about 2 plays away from being 5-0?

He over reacts as much as anyone.
