JJT on NFLN: Cowboys are 8-8 Team... vid post #39

Seriously I love JJT,but come on. Why all of the negativity towards Roy Williams. The guy has been a pro bowl WR in this league before. He said if williams can't demand double teams then teams will stack 8 in the box and neutralize our running game. What steeler WR demanded constant double teams? We had one and we still went 9-7. We've already been buried by the pundits and were still 5 months away from the season.

He must read this board because I have said that numerous times. He needs to get a little more original with his articles. ;)

Teams will force us to pass. Count on it. I hope Coach Tecmo is up for it.

Roy is going to prove a lot of people wrong.

I'm not counting the guy out. Hopefully you're right. I would love nothing more than to eat my 8-8 mediocrity prediction.

Good. I'd rather have people seeing us as 8-8 than Super Bowl champs like we were hailed as last preseason.

More fuel for the fire. Let the haters hate.

I didnt watch it. But without knowing the details, I really dotn know how anyone can have issue with calling us an 8-8 team. Its essentially what we are.

Hopefully we wont be, but someone saying it based on the previous 5 years really isnt that far off, unfortunately for us fans!

not that huge a difference between 9-7 and 8-8 guys, and we've been 9-7 3 out of the last 4 years.

I think we will do better, but it's not a crazy proclimation.

Good, then STOP saying when the Cowboys lose that it was a disappointing season because they were Super Bowl Favorites. And when your moronic brethren in the media say that they are favorites to win the Super Bowl, please point out how moronic they are.

Personally, I think a lot of this falls on Romo. If he can cut his turnovers by half, this is probably an 11-5 team if not better.

I agree.

We have not added anyone of substance and lost a pro bowl wr.

Not sure what the issue is...this team has a lot to prove.

Embrace the hate.
JJT is a bad reporter but not a hater. He had the Cowboys going to the Superbowl during training camp last year.

And why is 8-8 a hater's prediction? I'm a fan and want to drink the Kool-Aid, but what have we seen from this team in the last part of the season which makes you think they will make a run?

I am not ready to make any predictions, but as far as I am concerned, this team could be 7-9 just as easily as they could be 13-3.

I can't see us finishing any better than 9-7 again. That might get us in the playoffs. ;)

His lack of faith in Roy williams. He said he couldn't find anybody other than Jerry Jones who thinks williams can be a dominant number #1 WR.
While I think 8-8 is a very real possibility, I doubt this very seriously, unless JJT's only inquiries were at Extremeskins.

Chris Mortenson said a lot of people around the league think that Williams can be a special player, if sufficiently motivated. That may be a backhanded compliment, but it's a far cry from thinking he can't do it at all.

It is not the talent that is the issue it is the clown for a headcoach

If this team tanks early the season will most likely spin out of control from Wade

After last year all bets are off for me. I don't believe they are an 8-8 team, but we will see. I'm gonna say 10-6, 11-5.
