JJT On Sporting News Radio Today Said It Will Be Norv...

Go polish your clubs. I don't believe you, but if you are being homest, than you were never a Cowboys fan to start with.

It's simple, Jerry really trusts Turner and Turner will get the best out of an already very good Tony Romo.

Stop worrying about the defense. The HC ususally has very little to do with the defense anyway. We will get a DC to be proud of (Singletary)

Who are you kidding? Norval is just about as incapable of picking a staff as Jerry is. This team is going to end up with a defensive version of Bruce Coslet, guarenteed.

lol people who use the raiders and Commanders to try and prove a pointless point crack me up. especially this one. talking about players not believeing in a coach, with a owner who meddles in everything. what coach can actually earn a teams trust like that? ovbiously not even a HOF coach like gibbs.

Norv was in DC 5 years before Snyder got there and was still like 10 games below .500

As for an owner who medles in everything, you seriously think Jerry will give Norv 100% control :lmao:

I honestly think it is a mistake. I wont bash norv, but he was brought on in washington fix a team that couldnt function offensively, in essence he was hired in washington to be an offensive guru to replace gibbs who had left two years prior.

Norv had say in decisions there early on. They blew most of them. Jack kent cooke loved jimmy and norv and there young players in Dallas, so he took norv. It didnt work. By the time he had it figured out and had davis and johnson snyder was there.

As far as oakland goes...what does it matter. He had collins at qb and a stiff at lt. Jordan had a good year though.

I honestly think in our division, you have to have a defensive minded head coach and let the coordinators run the offense, ie garret.

WHo is going to coach the special teams. IF it is joe avezzano that will be nuts.

Ok I lied. One more thing...

Folks are using his OAK and Skins in BOTH arguments. Some saying he had extenuating circumstances as to why he didn't succeed. And you have those saying forget the circumstances and look at his overall HC record with both teams.

Take out both circumstances and record and look at how his teams performed for him. Did they play hard for him regardless of the score? Did they look prepared? How many of his players have individual success despite the records of the teams?

When we draft Ginn with our first pick, you will be happier.

:D Well that wouldn't make me sad...But he's not going to be there when we draft.

And it won't make me forget the Turner hire...If it's true and I can only hope it's not.

If anyone really think Norv was the best man out there for the job then you need to quit riding with Nate Newton in unmarked vans.

Jerry just hired a croney and a yes man. That's all there is to it.

Has any NFL head coach failed his first two NFL HC jobs and then got his team to the Superbowl on his third attempt? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I've missed one Dallas game in the last 9 years and that was because I had to attend a wedding. Hiring Norv makes almost no sense and if it's a stopgap solution, that tells me that Jerry really isn't serious about next year....so why should I take time from my life to watch and root for a team with that type of attitude coming from the ownership?

Singletary is already a DC at SF. We can't get him unless we are looking to give up draft picks since it's a lateral move. Plus, I thought Garrett was supposed to be offensive mind/QB guru extraordinare?

Yep that is the sad part.

There is no way norv is just going to come in and barry switzer this team to a championship as all the media and fans think.

I find it hard to believe Turner is the most highly qualified.

Last time I looked we just parted ways with a guy that had won 2 Super Bowls yet we never won a single playoff game with him...

While I'm not a huge Norv guy, if he's chosen I'll give him a fair shake. I think there's some talent on this team and I'm betting that Norv won't screw it up.

Hell I would have never given you 2 cents for Billichek after what he did in Cleveland...

i can see u point there. which is why i say start fresh, with garrett. the guy has no history of failure. both norv and phillips teams quit on him. anybody remember why phillips was fired from buffalo? BECAUSE HIS TEAM QUIT ON HIM!.

I have to agree.

Like I said you don't even talk to Rivera or Ryan...I mean you waited this long another week isn't going to kill you.

I can vouch for SilverBear on this. He will be here. We had epic battles on another board for two years in regard to Carter/Hutch. We were both wrong.

If these boys haven't figured out that I'm here for the long haul by now, I reckon they never will... :D

No he isn't, he is their LB Coach. They interviewed Campo for DC last week. They don't have one right now, unless something happened in the last day or so.

Norv Tuner

Hire Norv, and Fasano is a wasted pick unless Witten goes down.

Or...

Witten will move on.

He is their assistant head coach as well, the only promotion he could get would be head coach.

Jerry just hired a croney.

No kidding.

We KNOW he's not the best man for the job. This really can't be debated.

-As a coordinator last year, he was not overly successful.

-His record as a head coach does not inspire confidence, in any regard.

-Our offense was one of the best in the league. Norv wouldn't be coming in to 'fix' anything that needed fixing.

All of these factors show that Norv is not, in any sense, the best man for this job. Not only does he have a bad history, but also, he is not necessary. So, why would Jerry hire him?

-He's worked with him in the past. They get along.

-He was successful over a decade ago

-He can groom QB's

Is this what you look for in a head coach?

Hiring Norv would not be a business move...it'd be personal...and thereby, foolish
