Fisher is a better HC than Wade though.
Couldn't agree more. I don't think Fisher is the best HC in the world, though I'm certainly a fan of him, but I definately think he's an upgrade over Wade.

LOL. And yet the GREAT coach has only ONE more divisional title than the worst coach in the history of the league, Wade Phillips. Fisher has achieved the playoffs a whopping ONE season more than Wade. And Fisher has been a HC going on 16 seasons compared to Wade's 9 seasons (that includes the truncated Saints & Falcons' tenures).
Fisher is a good HC, at best. He is far from GREAT.
Where in his sentence, that you quoted, did he make the claim that Fisher was great? I don't recall seeing that word in there at all.

how do you figure? linebackers in the 4-3 have to be faster and better in coverage than 3-4 linebackers. James is not fast or good in coverage. plus he's not smart enough to be a MLB in a 3-4 let alone a 4-3.
Man you really hate Bradie James don't you?

You should get it right first before you throw it out there.
It's not whether he has the title of general manager, it's about how much control he maintains and the way he run things. If he controls most of the personnel decisons and hires many of the assistants and let's the players go over the coaches head and come directly to him, then yeah, the team will likely never amount to anything.
But if he does what he did when Jimmy and BP were here, ie, hire a quality HC, let the HC control his own staff, allow the HC to have considerable say in personnel decisons, and give the HC the proper authority he deserves to do his job, then we can still be successful even if Jerry remains "GM".
Excellent post from Bach here. People give this guy, myself included, a really hard time on the Jerry stuff but I have to agree with him here on this post.

I really like Jeff Fisher, but I still think Garrett gets the job.
I really like Fisher too but I REALLY hope that you're dead wrong about Garrett.

We've probably heard a few Rumors about Fisher might end up getting the Axe from Tennessee Titans after a horrible season, but what I would like to ask if hes such a great Coach than what is the problem with the Titans this year. I just hope hes not starting to get burned out as a Coach? What is your opinion regarding Fisher?
He coaches a team with a very tight fisted owner. They seriously never get any talent there except the ones that are home grown so that hamstrings him a bit.
They lost their D-Line anchor (Though I still contend that he was only such because he was in a contract season the last two years and busted his butt for that reason and that reason alone), his top 2 corners are out and thats made their secondary, one of the best last year, into one of the worst this year. He has no QB, at all. Collins got the last of his ability on display last year. Now he's finished. VY is still just garbage. Though Fisher was part of the team that drafted him so you do have to put that on him to be fair.
They have no recievers there worth anything, outside of Kenny Britt who they just drafted this year so they can't get a passing game going. Lendall White doesn't appear to be the same this year now that he's lost all that weight to try and have a contract season.
There are tons of factors working against him for just why that team is so horrible. He shoulders part of the blame, for certain as he's the HC, but he's not the total problem and he's still a very good HC. I'd take him here over quite a few of the other options.
Fisher > Wade, Garrett, Shannahan (More so because Shannahan would require a complete over haul of our O-Line which we've spent too much money on to do that), Gruden
Right now I'd say Cowher is still my favorite, though I know that's a pipe dream, followed by Holmgren and Dungy. I'd take 1 of those 3 over Fisher but I'd gladly take Fisher over any of those other names that I've seen thrown out to this point.
