Joe Theisman: What a worthless punk

SkinsandTerps said:
Lets me tell you that I have never been a big Theisman fan. I think he was a decent to good QB but certainly not great (feel the same way about Phil Simms). And definitely not a fan of his booth work.

Williams to Manley comparison is fair on some levels , but I feel doubtful that Williams is illiterate. Overall I agree with Theisman in that Williams is a disgrace, he walked away from the game only to come back because of the over 8M he owed to the Dolphins, they accepted him back with open arms only to have him screw it all up again.

Dexter wasnt suspended for drugs until 89, the Commanders traded him to the Cardinals when he regained eligibility. In all fairness Theisman never knowingly played with the coked up Manley. Unlike say, Simms with LT.

i agree 100%. if dex was trying to play right now- much like comparing mark mcguire to barry bonds- he would be criticized.

still dont understand all the hate for theismann. he's been plenty critical of the skins. is this cuz he picked the skins to represent in the SB? it's not like he was that far off. if thomas doesnt go down, the skins are probably in the NFC championship game at least.

When was that? The guy's the biggest homer in sports.

I havent seen the movie but pretty certain that the guys in Brokeback were ... Cowboys.

You are correct. We ran them out of town. There names were Demetric Evans and Tyson Walter. I wonder where those guys ended up...

Adam Shein is a bigger homer.

He was never a high profile former player for an NFL team.

Hands down, Theismann is the most biased announcer out there. Not even Collinsworth with his consistent hamming for the Bengals can compete.

Agreeing with Alexander and adding one more.

Not even Boomer Esiason and his constant Maryland Terapin QBs praise is a bigger homer.

:wink2:

hey, hey, hey, dont bring the mighty Terps into this. haha.

I dont know, I think that Irvin is a pretty big homer, maybe equal to Joe. And TO's #1 Fan/Apologist.

Irvin has blasted the team occasionally. He's certainly not homer-free, but I can honestly say I have never heard Joey Einstein say a cross word about Washington.

Irvin is a big homer. I don't deny that. He's not yet in Joey T's league.

Joey T. is not a very smart football person in the booth, he says the absolute dumbest things, ... and then backs them up to the end with even dumber stuff.

He should not be in the booth, .. he is bad. :lmao:

I don't understand why he still has a job. He brings nothing to a broadcast except for being irritating. His analyses are simply awful. I can think of dozens of announcers that are more worthy of the coveted spot he has.

I have a lot of friends who are not Cowboys fans and have nothing against the Skins like I do because of the rivalry. None of them can stand him and all of them agree he's the biggest homer out there.

He doesn't even compare to Michael Irvin as far as being a homer. Can you imagine Irvin doing the color for a Cowboys game?

I have not seen the movie either but I think they were sheep herders, not cowboys. And if you want to play the junior high word change game just remember the "cowboys" all but destroyed the indian nation. Along with their own stupidity.

True... they should be associated with the Rams... ;)

Idiot? Sure.

Disgrace? No, I reserve that tag for murderers and true criminals, like Rae Carruth and O.J. Simpson. Not mentally weak stoners.

Oh, so you get to decide who the TRUE crimianls are. Wasn't OJ determined innocent by the jury. We do have laws in the US and we do have rules in the NFL. If you break a law in the US you are a true criminal. Doing drugs is against the law if you had not noticed. Do you get to decide which laws are worthy and which ones are not?

Are you REALLY suggesting that O.J. is innocent?

There are tons of innocent people in prison, and tons of criminals acquitted because of some mislead juries...

No, but there was not enough proof to convict him was there?

Ricky is a confessed lawbreaker but is not a TRUE criminal because someone deems that using drugs is not as bad as another crime and yet how many are killed each day in America by drunk or under the influence (of various things)drivers?

How many innercity kids are killed each day because of drug use and the ramifications of drug deals?

As someone whose mother is 100% native american, I consider your ignorant comment somewhat offensive.

I am not playing thr Jr. high game, I am pointing out things that I have read and I am certain that several others on this board have as well.

Maybe they were sheep herders, I am sure at least one person on this board has seen the movie. I just saw the posters.

EDIT: I just looked at IMDB, and it states : "Plot Outline: Based on the E. Annie Proulx story about a forbidden and secretive relationship between two cowboys and their lives over the years."
FWIW, I considered the ignorant comment inappropriate, too.

I'm an adult, and I'll admit that I watched Brokeback Mountain, and wanted the 2 hours of my life back afterwards, though not because I can't handle the idea of homosexuality.

I *can* confirm, that the participants were both cowboys, though, and that Heath Ledger definitely gives the other guy the Parcells-to-Gibbs treatment. Metaphorically speaking, of course, it's painful to watch.
