Murray isn't a one year wonder. He has rushed for over 4400 yds in his 4 years. That is a big number for someone who never plays.

I would rather overpay a little and keep Dez and Murray than try to get cute and miss the playoffs again because the new, cheap guys weren't as good.

That is too much for someone who get habitually eaten by the turf monster.

If Indy were to offer Murray anything near that amount, I would congratulate him, wish him well and offer to drive him to the airport.

:lmao2::lmao:

Seriously. I'm so ready to move on from this guy. He can take MO with him while he's at it. Possibly even T-Will.

love murray, prefer him over AP...but, $7m? ugh, that plus Dez' $13m is a tough pill to swallow....romo counts something like $27m this year against the cap (is that right?)...the triplets will be sucking up a lot of the capola

3 players will account for over 1/3 of our total salary cap................that is just wild............LOL

I hope this isn't true. Foolish to pay a RB that kind of money. Let him walk and spend it on the defense.

Outstanding post. i feel the same way.if you paid for a franchise QB like Jerry did. you need to go all out to win a championship now. don't have time to keep waiting.

Murray will likely receive another offer from Dallas before they let him get away but it won't break the bank.
Needless to say, it remains to be seen if he decides to settle for something less than another team might be inclined to offer. At least here in Texas he won't have to worry about a state income tax. It could be a factor. We'll see if Clayton's prediction about Dallas offering 7 to 7.5 mil is enough to tempt Murray to stick around if it comes to pass. Dunno where he got it from, tho.

So roughly a million less. Colts make the playoffs every year. But Murray wont get nearly as much touches in Indy. Thats just a guess.....

I am trying to put myself in Murrays shoes...

Honestly, I think I take the extra million. If it were a team that hardly ever made the playoffs, I would probably stay in Dallas. But Indy is a good team and organization......

you would lose that in taxes.

That is what I was thinking. They are almost a lock to win that division every year. They have Luck. They are a good organization and decent team. Murray can go to the playoffs every year..

BUT THEY ARE NOT THE DALLAS COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

John Clayton is on the radio a lot here in Washington. He was just on a local show and said Dallas is going to offer DM 7-7.5 a year. Said that Indy will offer 8-9 and that DM will have a choice to make. Seattle hosts on a kick lately, saying if Lynch retires they can get DM. John shot them down, saying Lynch is going to wait until august to make a decision.

How much he averages annually is not the kicker, its what is guaranteed.
