love murray, prefer him over AP...but, $7m? ugh, that plus Dez' $13m is a tough pill to swallow....romo counts something like $27m this year against the cap (is that right?)...the triplets will be sucking up a lot of the capola

Your holding something that happened almost 10 years ago against the guy? lol

Yeah. He's a terrible source of any information not pertaining to the Steelers or Seahawks and everything he's ever said about the a cowboys has always been wrong. How he keeps a job continues to amaze me.

I am just starting to gain trust in the FO. OK that stupid deal for Romo hit me hard but i still think the people in the FO are able to make good decissions. Not great ones but good ones.

But 7 mils per year for a RB is way too much. We can draft one in the third who will have very good production in our system.

I hope this is not right. It would make my days grey and rainy :(

No thank you at that price. Murray played great but it was the first year he stayed relatively healthy, put up consistent numbers during his contract year, all while our offensive line was beasting. He played great but there are other players that contributed to his success in a big big way. If he wants to get paid then fine, let him get paid but the Cowboys are trying to build a team here. Sign a guy like Ingram and draft another.

Don't really see how you justify offering Demarco 7.5 per year and not locking up Dez long term. The latter doesnt have much to do with it I just dont see how you make that offer.

Because DeMarco is mature enough to not take any of this personally. And because the team needs more time to hammer out a deal with Dez.

No way in hell Murray is worth 7 million per year. That's a very foolish move. He will never produce another year like 2014. I hope I'm wrong, but he is not Emmitt Smith or any other memorable RB. He's a good RB who does the dirty work and runs to contact in the secondary. 7 million is crazy.

Have to remember that it is $7 million a year average. For a 5 year contract that is $35 million that most likely means $14 million in guarantees ($10 million bonus guarantee and $4 million in salary guarantees). Most likely 2015 cap number would be $2,745,000 cap number, 2016 cap number $4, 000,000, 2017 cap number $5, 250,000, 2018 cap number $10,000,000 and 2019 cap number $13,000,000.

If we cut Murray after 2017 then the cap hit is $4 million. That's a good deal all the way around.

Always hard to know if these reports are accurate. If the Cowboys are offering 7 to 7.5 Mill then I think that is more than a fair offer and it falls to Murray wanting to continue in Dallas or not. I would not go beyond this offer that is being reported

And yet this worthless rb broke Emmitt's rookie record and his total for yards in a season.

The human body can withstand an incredible amount of work when proper nutrition, resistance, and plyometric training are used.

A.P and Murray are in peak physical condition year round. The only 2 running backs in the NFL that I can see carry that kind of load consistently are Murray/A.P . With Lynch being right behind but I question his nutrition highly.

'those that ignore history are doomed to repeat it' you certainly fall into that category

Yes. It completely depends on the structure of the deal.

Yeah I think they could go w/ Ingram for less + Ryan Williams + Joseph Randle and still be OK.

I like Murray but not $7m-$7.5m like.

Yeah, that is a lot.
I'm sure the Romo cap number will come way down if needed.
Smith's contract was setup with changes in mind to help with the cap
They'll get some saving from Carr
I'm curious about Witten. I think he had a big cap hit last year, but not sure about 2015
