You missed the part about tax difference between the two states.... its almost a wash.

I did...... I live in Texas too and didnt even think about it

If thats the case, then why would he leave?

He probably won't in that scenario... you said you'd take extra million.

that's a lot of money...demarco is going to take our deal if true. he has very good rapport with the organization and the leaders on the team. plus he loves the city and understands the opportunities available to him as a Cowboy. 1-2 mill extra from the Colts won't make up for that.

You don't think so? The AFC south is arguably weaker than the NFC east. He can be a winner with the Colts for years to come.

Doesn't matter. NFL players are taxed by the state they work in. So if you are on the road playing the Gents your tax is based on that state. Weird, but true.

I've heard that they skirt this by saying they put in more hours in their home state. Paid minimum for games, and more for practice, travel, and meetings.

It's definitely not a wash they'd both pay full boat federally and Murray would only save state taxes on games played in Indy. So let's say the difference is 1.5m in salary. He'd pay an extra 7 percent (Indy state tax) on half of his base. Let's say he gets 9m vs our 7.5. That's an extra tax bill of 315k. A difference of 1.175m into Murray's pocket in Indy. Hardly a wash.
