Depends on how you structure it. I don't see AP coming any cheaper, probably a little more if any thing.

At least he can hit a home run once in awhile. Not run to the sideline looking for contact. But thats none of my business

Jerry, use the money for Hardy. I've got some rookie names and an AD for you. Just call.

Agreed. I would use that money for an impact defender and grab one of these rookie backs. I like Murray, but not at that price.

That's exactly right, in my book. Gotta draw a line somewhere. RB on his second contract is about as good a place as I can see to draw it.

If you front load the contract with guaranteed money it's not bad. You can walk away after 2 years or so, and in the meantime he'll shoulder 350-400 touches. The dude WAS our best defensive player last year.

According to Mincey he was a huge part of it. Said so right on camera during a game.

I see your logic everywhere except one place that 95% of y'all seem to not care about. A rookie RB will almost guarantee a significant Romo injury. Especially any of these guys that I keep hearing mentioned. And If anyone thinks AD is coming for less than 7, your crazy!!!

I love murray but this is way too much money. So much for making the defense better I guess. You know damn well dallas will over pay then murray will get hurt early in the season because thats they way things go for dallas.

You can flame if you want, but Demarco is going to be a 3.2 yards per carry guy in 2016

As long as those three yards get us a first down, or instead of 2 and 12 yards its 2nd and 7 yards. Thats fine with me.

this is a huge test for Jerry,if this is true then it will be worse than MB3 deal and will derail us till Romo retires because there is no way Murray is worth that much, please dont do it jerry.

*IF* what Clayton is saying is true, what test? It would be what Jerry is putting on the table.

As much as I want DM back, I hate paying RB's big money... especially ones that are coming off of 400+ carries seasons.

Go look at the history books, every RB that has carried the ball that many times in a season has fallen off a cliff the next year in terms of production.

Keep in mind that this info is coming from John Clayton. He's the guy who famously said that there was nothing to the TO to Dallas rumors and it would be months before Owens picked his next team.

The day before Owens was in Dallas for his signing press conference.

Your holding something that happened almost 10 years ago against the guy? lol

 I hope Clayton is wrong. This is 7.5 mil is WAY too much for an RB, especially one coming off a 400 carry season.

If we don't pro-rate a large signing bonus and just pay as we go, we can walk away after a year or two. Murray protects against that by being too productive to cut.

Do you think we will cut TSmith next year when his guaranteed money is exhausted? It is the same with Dez, just bet on yourself a little instead of expecting Dallas to buy away any worries and you will still be very rich in a few years.

its a test of using your resources well and we have finite resources, any GM who pays a RB a 2nd contract is dumb.Philly just traded Shady and you can bet they started regretting giving him a big contract.
