John Harbaugh and Giants are working to finalize agreement to make him HC

The Harbaugh deal isn't signed. It's being negotiated. I just saw that on cbssports

But the thing is,Jerry would never ever make this move.

John Harbaugh types don't interview for the HC of the Dallas Cowboys.

He's not what you would call a Jerry Jones comfort level personality so he would never even be considered as a prospective hire.
Exactly, which is why we are just running in circles with Jerry in change. Giants get to start over. But we are never allowed to start over.

I'm bashing Jerry? No. Im saying it's been 30 years, we need to be more serious. All in hasn't been all in. I guess what I see as serious or unserious is different. I'm not that big a Harbaugh guy. But yes he's a good hc. Better than what they have had since Coughlin. Parcels was all in truly. Jerry let him bring in his own staff on both sides of the ball. Mike McCarthy didn't get the full autonomy that Bill received. To be fair to mm, that's not his fault. Good hc, but Parcels is better. Harbaugh better be what they paid for in short order.
That's not totally what I meant,

but I'm just saying people who keep saying that what the Giants just did which is the first time in about a decade or 12 years,

that they hired somebody like this, because before that they were hiring guys worse than Brian Schottenheimer, worse than Jason Garrett, you know how I know, because the Cowboys have been using them as a doormat for a long time, and if the Cowboys are supposed to be bad, because we have a bad GM, that doesn't know what they're doing ,that makes the Giants nothing worse than nothing, when you're comparing the two franchises of course the Cowboys are better both with Super Bowl wins ,Super Bowl appearances RS win%, H2H, and the last 12 years, we've been stomping their brains out...

That's my point though,

people are saying well Jerry never does this and you said they haven't done it since Parcells, and I'm telling you that Harbaugh while he's a very good name, and not worth $20 million in my opinion, he is on a very similar level mike Mccarthy was, on there for Jerry has done that and you said he didn't get carte blanche...

he actually did mike Mccarthy hired Mike Nolan and it was the wrong move mike McCarthy had the choice he's the one that called Kellen Moore, if you want to stay up to real history, he called Kellen Moore and asked him not to take the college job, I believe he was going back to Boise State or something, there was a college job offer for a head coaching position,

Can't remember the details on that, but Mike Mccarthy agreed that it would be a good move to keep Kellen Moore, but later needed a scapegoat and took over play calling and they fired Kellen Moore, that is the real history Jerry wanted Kellen Moore, jerry wanted Dan Quinn, jerry fired Mike Nolan after Mike Mccarthy failed When given carte blanche....

MM Did get autonomy, whatever word you want to use mike Mccarthy did get that respect at first he did not have anyone forced on him that is an old already disproven theory, but Even so Jerry picked the better coaches for Mike Mccarthy, because Mike Mccarthy was not a better play designer or play caller than Kellen Moore, I know we have hindsight now ,but he got a Super Bowl ring with the Eagles and now he's running his own team,

therefore, jerry was right about kellen moore.

Any of Mike McCarthy doesn't get that wrong Moore still being the OC, maybe Kellen Moore is our head coach right now who knows maybe nobody wants that, but it could have been a better transition than BS...maybe?

This could end up being on the same level and I know I'm just sitting here rambling But when we lost Peyton because of Bill Parcells misstep his ego he may have done it on purpose he did not inform Peyton that he was about to retire he should have told him to stay and Peyton would have transitioned right into the head coach Aaron who knows how things would have went not having to have Jason Garrett...

Maybe we're gonna have the same regret down the road that if Kellen Moore would not have been scapegoated by Mike Mccarthy Because he didn't want him here anymore, he might be our coach head coach it might be the better head coach,

we might have lost another Sean Payton or at least a similar level, we'll find out soon what he does with the Saints, but that's another mistake by Mike Mccarthy, not Jerry Jones.

But might know him that whole defensive staff everything else but the Kellen Moore debate ,That was Mike Mccarthy,

Dan Quinn and Kellen Moore were actually 100 percent Jerry's guys so sometimes Jerry does things right, i'm not sticking up for him, but I'm telling you sometimes you give coaches too much rope, and they hang themselves, they make the mistakes.

No way am I defending Jerry,

i'm just telling you that I'm only replying to those here saying that Jerry hasn't done what the Giants just did and I'm telling you Mike Mccarthy was that move, it doesn't go all the way back to Bill Parcells, Mike Mccarthy in my opinion is on a very similar tier than Harbaugh, their resumes are almost exact ,therefore Jerry has done it and it did work for a little while, But it turns out that Dan Quinn may have been helping him a little bit more than people realized... he leaves it all falls apart and even though Dan Quinn's not perfect they had a really good staff at one point and then sometimes it gets broken up..

The Eagles are going through that right now,

I think they're going on their 4th OC in the last five years not much different than we're having problems with A DC.. And the Lions are seeing the growing pains from losing what they believe they can move on from and both their coordinators are not working out that well...

I mean look at Tom Brady and the Raiders, they hired entire coaching staff, who by the way had a very similar resume as Mike Mccarthy and Harbaugh, and he was given some really good players over there...

I mean at least on every level they had a star they overdrafted AJ and I mean I like him as a running back, but they didn't need that this is coming from a real GM and tom brady the consultant made a sixty-million-dollar error in a coaching staff.

But yes, it happens it's not just Jerry that makes these missteps and now we have to see if Harbaugh works out with the Giants but I'm not going to sit here and act like this is the best coaching hire in the last 30 years and it's going to put the Giants on a whole new level..

that has to be proven....

I mean it may End up being a launching point for the Giants to finally get out of the cellar, but not wanting to keep us going but you all act like Jerry's the only franchise because he's the GM and doesn't have a actual separate GM makes mistakes, and we're seeing the mistakes ,I just listed there's some monumental mistakes being made by other franchises, that have real GM ,and that have consultants that are supposed to be big names..

that's why people are acting like OMG troy's going to change the Dolphins is he because Tom Brady already made the biggest mistake ever and somehow they're going to pat him on the back for those mistakes..

he was supposed to be the inside job guy worked for the media talk to the other teams you remember his insider info was gonna help him with the Raiders and it was going to be unfair it wasn't unfair he made huge mistake with that staff and the draft and now they get the reboot how's anything different than Jerry that's what Jerry said he's going to be the one making the mistakes why does he need to fire somebody making mistakes below him...

Not that agree with him, I just find it ironic though that people think hey Jerry needs to get an outside GM well what about all the teams that keep firing their GMS and head coaches and have multiple 1st round picks and still fail all the time and like I said we just saw it tom Brady Mr Everything Consultant mr Football screwed up big time last year, with his decisions ,and now he gets to just scratch it all the way and do a redo,

how's that anything different than Jerry?

Yes there are better franchise out there, there are better gms there better front offices ,but that's why I always keep saying Jerry is not a terrible GM or a terrible owner, they act like he's dead last... I've heard the words he's the worst in the league, no he's not,

I called him mid no he's not top 10 but we can debate between 10 and 16 of where he sits as A GM because at least he has the team winning enough to be relative and no it's not enough..

Just sick of hearing this, so far the last three days about the Giants, they're doing it right they're doing the opposite of what Jerry's done and, it's the absolute lie,

we just talked about it...

Are posts this long even allowed?

He’s heading to the Giants because they’re willing to pay $20 million a year and the autonomy to build his staff.

They’re also reportedly looking at Jim Leonhard as their defensive coordinator.

If Jerry wants to leave a legacy as a great owner and GM, he has to take the next step and start paying top-tier coaches to come to Dallas and let them do what they want. The Cowboys shouldn’t be bargain-hunting when it comes to leadership which they've been doing this entire decade.

What baffles me is that they have essentially unlimited money for coaches, yet still choose to pay peanuts and settle for mediocrity. If you want elite results, you have to invest in elite coaching.

Because Jerry is full of crap. He doesn't prioritize winning he prioritizes being comfortable with working with family, being the one face of the Cowboys. He's just hoping he can win that way even when 30 years is telling him he can't. And you know what? He doesn't care, he's comfortable and making billions. Would he like to win? Sure but it's really not his top priority. Lucky us to have an owner like this.

It does not matter, it will get signed sooner or later
schefter just reported on the twitter that the ongoing talks isnt about money, its language in the contract. john H probably wanting no loopholes about who has final say on the roster

When they say it isn’t about the money, it really is about the money. If they had paid peanuts for him to go to NY, he would have turned it down.

Coaches have to be paid out of owners pocket.
You should know by now they are super cheap scrooges.
They dont like even spending salary cap $.

iF Haarbaugh becomes the giants HC , they pick very high in the draft this year so he will be able
to add more talent, and they will be competitive this year.

That's not good.

The Eagles are going to retool, the Commanders had a tough injury-riddled season and should be better next season.

Now we have Dart and the Giants coached by a Harbough?

Not good.

WHY ???

The holdup between John Harbaugh and the Giants involves "reporting structure," per FOX Sports' Ralph Vacchiano.

GM Joe Schoen remains in his role for a fifth year after owner John Mara fired head coach Brian Daboll during the season.

Darn the Giants fans have to be theilled with getting a coach with the pedigree of Harbaugh and already having stud young QB of the future
