No wonder they got to the playoffs if they started each game with a 25 point lead.
Like I told people on FB. The South Texas schools do that all the time until the play teams from East Texas, Houston, Dallas, and Central Texas.

Hopefully a pretense of things to come.

Highland Park 16
Temple 7

Looks like Stephen's son had a nice game:

"36-yard touchdown run for John Stephen Jones, the grandson of Jerry Jones. All tied up 7-7 with just under 4 minutes left in 1st half."

"Highland Park - #9 John Stephen Jones with a 1 Yd Rushing TD. Temple 7, Highland Park 13"

This could be a good omen. They upset a big time local power today.

Nice footwork ( better than Dak, lol) surprising arm strength for his size needs to work on throwing mechanics. Looks a little like Manzel with the way he can make defenders miss and extend a play. Maybe see him on Saturdays if he gets to 6 foot tall puts on 30 lbs n works on those throwing mechanics. Stephens 6 foot or there abouts wonder how tall mom is ?

Being a youth football coach I can tell you at one time this was true. But in all seriousness any dad, coach, uncle, whomever can pull up a YouTube video with good coaching tips/skills, you don't need a lot of money now-a-days. Speed ladder from WalMart only $20 bucks ....

Honestly if he had such great coaching they would have fixed his delivery by now. Perhaps they've tried but didn't get it done. But his footwork is better than Daks and yes he is athletic but he's listed at 5' 10' but closer to 5'8 155. Needs to grow to play Div 1. Surprising arm strength for his size.

Which you guys think would make Jerruh happier?

His grandson winning the state title or his team winning the Super Bowl ?

Calallen has the tougher game, but they both have been up there in the state finals, quite a few times in recent years.

Calallen is 5A, and Refugio is 2A. Go South Texas.

Oh yea, our Corpus Christi team is their, Highland Park's, opponent...and with good solid football to bring to the carpet. That's all...

Their coach happens to be the winningest High School Coach in the history of Texas High School football.

Maxpreps predicted he would eclipse G.A. by October this year.
