why dont we trade Key for a 3rd or 2nd (big wishes) draft pick? With Glenn, Patrick, Price we have 3 good receivers right there with **gasp** speed that the Key doesn't have, i know hes good for 3rd and short situations because hes like 6-5 and has decent hands but the other 3 have just as good if not better hands then he does....any body else think this?

He's our #1, i'd like to think our #1 reciever is worth more than a 3rd round draft pick

I keep Key, other guys do have good hands but no one on the team and few in the NFL can make the difficult catch over the middle the way Key does. I think he is worth more to the team than we could get in trade.

No one would give up a 2nd, 3rd, or probably even a 4th for that matter for Key. He's old, and has a decent sized contract.

That being said, I don't think it's worth it for us either. As the previous poster said, Keyshawn flat out gets open, gives the QB a big target, makes the tough catches, and moves the chains. He's also an above average blocker. He does a lot of things that go unnoticed.

Yeah, why would we want to keep a 6'5" quality possesion receiver who has vast knowledge of the game and can go in the middle and get us that first down.....

Price is not noted a a slow WR, he has decent speed. Sorry if you don't like getting Price I think he will change a lot of minds around here

Attacking the middle of the field not many are better than Key but the role that Key plays is not the same role that Price will be asked to do. As for not wanting Price here too late he is here and I think he will add a lot to this offense.

Yes, he is... he's a legit 4.45 second 40, Key is at best a 4.6 40...

Price once ran a 10.5 second 100 meters...

Once again, you don't have the first clue what you're talkin' about... you just engage your mouth without puttin' your brain in gear...

This sign is the first chip at Key, very logical question as Price will be taking PT away from Glenn and Key. I posted a very similar post yesterday on Key - these discussiopns are being had I'm sure in VR right now.

Key probably stays - but if someone calls and offers a 2 - I'd trade him in a second. But he likely stays.

because hes a good player, and nobody is going to give up anything significant to make us trade him. we need him, theres no way we can get enough to trade him away, hes too late into his career to be considered trade bait.

Not only is Price FAST, he's very, very quick. Note Parcells quotes that he's a lot like Glenn, he noted his separation and CB's views on Price......

He also is a big YAC guy. He makes people miss and breaks off big plays. Big play potential. Miki can attest to that in 2002.

What chip? we added another quality WR this has nothing to do with Key it has to do with adding more talent to a team that can use all the talent they can get their hands on. Key showed last year he can still do the job and no reason at this point to think he will not continue to do so.

No. Just how does that make us better? It doesn't.

^wow! that i did'nt know.

I don't wanna egg you on, lmao!!

But it's true.

T will make 1.8 mil this year, PP 2 mil. It was mentioned in one of the articles posted today.

I admit seeing it make my blood boil. Boil over, in fact. ;)

But hey, PP is Cowboy now and you and I have to get on the same page with that or we become 'divisive fans', right?

I know you saw PP first hand at Atlanta, but folks seeing Terry first hand at Green Bay would have EXACTLY the same take on the receivers when those stints ended.

Just as the wco didn't suit T, it didn't suit PP. And T had Brett Favre throwing to him not Mike Vick. I didn't think it was fair at all to evaluate T on that year in GB, so I just have to extend the courtesy to PP.

There are serious parallels between these two tho, Guru, and one of them is Bledsoe. Both receivers are going to bring out the best in DB, and vice versa.

I also want to bring something out about PP's experience in Atl since it was his performance there that fuels your distrust of him. And that is that like Terry, he was intoduced to an over-the-middle, crossing pattern, horizontal game and had to greatly diversify his game from the vertical sidelines/ go route receiver he was in Buffalo.

That experience greatly enhanced Glenn's game, whether he shone in GB or not. He showed in 03 with 39 of his 55 receptions going for first downs that he could also be a chain mover when thrust into that role. He certainly didn't become a Keyshawn, but he was the closest thing we had to a possession receiver ni 03, and frankly, I was proud of the job he did.

I expect you are going to see a different Peerless Price here than in ATL, and a much more versatile one. If his trajectory is anything like Glenn's, it is going to really benefit the team, because his repertoire of routes will be so much more expanded, and polished. He may never be a 'good' blocker, but like T, he will be at least a better one than before.

A 'failure' in one place with one system (and Price's in ATL was highly qualified) isn't total...there is always something that was learned..if Price is anything like T, he is no longer 'just' a Z route demon, he is a truly accomplished receiver now.

You need to let him prove himself here, Guru.

It is only 'fair'.
