I don't agree that he's our #1, but I will say that there's not a WR on our team that would bring more than a 3rd round draft pick....that's a stone cold fact...not key, not glenn, not price, and certainly not crayton...heck, I'm not sure you could package two of them and get a 2nd round pick.

Let's be realistic here about their ages, their production, and their value around the league.

I love these trade threads.

Let's trade Glover.

Let's trade Dat.

I'll give Dexter Coakley and a 4th rounder for so-and-so team's All Pro player.

Heck, if some team offers us a 2nd rounder, I may consider trading Key.

Forums are dangerous ... there's a reason why we have other jobs. :)

Personally, I wouldn't even trade Morgan for a 7th round pick unless he becomes a distraction...that's way too cheap....draft picks are valuable, but so are WR's...I'd pop Morgan's butt back on KO return and see if his speed has any value...we stink back there in the return game.

Morgan is still clearly the 5th best WR on the team at worst...I wouldn't trade that for a 7th.

We won 6 games last year - all change here is good.

Price sign is more good!

This sign is the first chip at Key, very logical question as Price will be taking PT away from Glenn and Key. I posted a very similar post yesterday on Key - these discussiopns are being had I'm sure in VR right now.

Key probably stays - but if someone calls and offers a 2 - I'd trade him in a second. But he likely stays.

You guys are high if you think anyone would gives us 2nd or 3rd for Key. We'd be lucky to get a cond. 6th.

That being said...I think he is crucial to the offense w/ Bledsoe. I'm happy with depth as someone will get hurt.

A conditional 6th for Key? I think it is you that has the loaded bowl. Put the pipe down. Key could easily bring a 3rd rounder. A dang good chance he'd be worth a second.

Key stays anyway. Not an issue.

Draft picks have become like gold in the NFL. Aging stars rarely attract much in the way of trade value. Personally I think Key could garner a 4th but that's about it.

Key is somewhat underrated by Cowboy fans because he does a lot of dirty work that help win games but don't show up in big stats. Having said that teams do not game plan to stop him and he's not a big play threat. If he is a #1 receiver he's among the worst # 1's in football; that's not a criticism as much as it's an observation. Key has one maybe 2 years tops left in Dallas. We draft his replacement early in next year's draft IMO.

"I'm sorry but, Keyshawn Johnson does not create any match-up problems for a defense. The guy is a big, extremely slow WR who's only use at this point is going over the middle, which once again.. is what we have Jason Witten for.

Keyshawn isn't adding anything to this offense right now, he can't make a big play and the stuff he does underneath is not anything Jason Witten and Patrick Crayton can't do."

tisk, tisk

teams rolled double coverage to Key's side of the field when Glenn went down, and STILL he produced for us, hell, he made many a plays down the field, he may be slow, but he plays much faster than that...

I don't know why people bring up Key's speed, it was never a part of his game to begin with (as a rookie) so who cares? Speed is NOT his game. If Terry Glenn loses a step or two, THEN you worry. If Key starts getting aligator arms going over the middle, THEN you worry. But don't worry about Key's speed when he never had any of it to begin with. His game is to block out and get rebounds, basically.

I dunno about trading our 1 WR who was healthy and productive last season. Key put up 70 catches and close to 1000 yards. We wouldn't get mroe than a 5th rounder for Key. Too big a salary, to "old".

Key never was a speed guy, and he doesn't have to be. His job is to get the tough yards over the middle, and be a big target in the red zone. People also understimate his blocking ability. On a few of Jones' bigger runs, Johnson would make a great block downfield to give Jones a few extra yards.
