Johnson....

A team that picks up a guy like Key is picking up the most expensive commodity on the market: a proven older veteran with a hefty contract. Problem with guys like this is, because they're at the end of their careers, you'll never get a draft choice high enough to guarantee replacement value of his skills. You'll be getting a draft pick that factors in his shorter time-to-play and ever growing health issues.

He's a good receiver and a nasty brutish blocker. He was once the answer to our prayers, a nearly guaranteed touchdown in the red zone, but we seem to have forgotten that in the post-Chan Gailey euphoria of the times.

David.

Don't know all that much about Price. But I do know that he can be as fast as he wants to be, But........he better have a brain to go with it and learn the offense qiuckly or he's not going to impact anything. Here's to hopin' he left VR with a play book.

why dont we trade Key for a 3rd or 2nd (big wishes) draft pick? With Glenn, Patrick, Price we have 3 good receivers right there with **gasp** speed that the Key doesn't have, i know hes good for 3rd and short situations because hes like 6-5 and has decent hands but the other 3 have just as good if not better hands then he does....any body else think this?

NO I DON'T THINK THIS

Exactly! Why does everyone seem to think Key is only good for 3rd and short? Give me a break. Keyshawn is a gamer, and brings it on every play.

This sign is the first chip at Key, very logical question as Price will be taking PT away from Glenn and Key. I posted a very similar post yesterday on Key - these discussiopns are being had I'm sure in VR right now.

Key probably stays - but if someone calls and offers a 2 - I'd trade him in a second. But he likely stays.

Nors has it right again. BTW, Nors, what is up with the Raven avitar? Am I missing something?

T will make 1.8 mil this year, PP 2 mil. It was mentioned in one of the articles posted today.

But wasn't that based on incentives?

I agree. Although I think Key gets the rep because he is so good about making the tough catch over the middle to move the chains. However even last year Key would fake that move inside and take it deeper for a big play. Seems some can't appreiate the job Key does for this team

lol @ you telling me what he ONCE RAN.

what does that have to do with now?

im in atlanta i saw the "separation" he got from db so yes I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT.

I saw him in Atl as well and from what I saw every WR in atl is going to have a hard time posting big numbers when their QB is too busy free lancing and not getting them involved. Even Vick admits to needing to work from the pocket but he has yet to show he can on any consistant bases thus WR numbers will suffer until Vick can. Price in a system where he can run his routs and expect the ball to be their as he makes his breaks something he did not have in Alt.

ok guys i wont say another negative word about peerless.

if he dont play football when hes in the game tho im gonna raise hell!

No, I think his incentives are built on top of the two mil.

But remember, the guy was given just a one year contract and he was looking for a multi year one.

When you deny the player the more security he wanted (not that any contract is ever secure past the sb), you need to compensate with a bigger one year contract.

Price isn't in the most ideal of situations. Whatever those incentives are, they can't be too easy to reach considering the number of good wide outs here.

Parcells says he must define his own role - meaning whenever he is on the field, he has to impress enough to get more time on, and to earn another contract next season.

Everyone will get their share of the ball....Tuna' s good at keeping that promie..it's who does what with his share that keeps him on the field. And on the field in Dallas.

The ideal in the absence of a true #1 receiver, is to do it the New England way...a rotational system of your good #2's that means no one will be leading the league stats race...or racking up amazing fantasy football numbers....

but one of them might just end up the Super Bowl MVP.

Just ask yourself if the man represents an upgrade over Quincy Morgan.

That'll make it easy.

Or, it also represents depth if anyone gets hurt. ;)

Not that we want that ... but just in case ...

You need his size and toughness across the middle not speed. The other guys can run up the field while Key makes the tough catches in the middle. Not to mention that you wouldn't get equal value for him.

I keep Key, other guys do have good hands but no one on the team and few in the NFL can make the difficult catch over the middle the way Key does. I think he is worth more to the team than we could get in trade.

I agree. He is a great possession receiver, although, and I know its premature, but I think Crayton is going to take his place as a possession receiver over time.

He's still faster than Keyshawn, and you're an idiot if you don't believe that... even Jerry said that he was a Terry Glenn type of receiver...

Now, I guess you'll tell me how Glenn is slower than Keyshawn too...

im in atlanta i saw the "separation" he got from db so yes I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT.

You have talked way too much stupid crap-- and not just about Price-- for anybody in here to believe that... you have proven that you watch the game, but you don't SEE the game... I find myself wondering how many games you've watched SOBER in your life...

He got separation enough in Atlanta to catch 109 passes, from a quarterback who isn't exactly legendary for his ability to read a defense or throw a ball accurately... when he DID have a quarterback with those skills, he caught 13 balls in 2 games...

Yeah, he really can't get separation... ROTFLMAO...
