For the love of god do people even try to think though what they post?

MJD has a 5m base. We can't even pay 1/3 of that.

If we were sitting here undefeated and looking for a Murray replacement then he'd make sense PROVIDED WE HAD THE CAP SPACE.

A large part of the reason he is available is the Jags Owner does not want to pay him.

If we can make it work cap wise then yeah it might be worth it.

Hopefully Murray's strain isn't too serious.

Holy moly.... Let the team figure out what hues worth and what to pay...

As a fan I think he comes over rejuvenated and contributes instantly.

At 3-3 in the NFC least ... It's like we are undefeated..... Go get him. Lol

Don't know. Lots of wear on those tires. RBs typically don't get much better at his age.

He is on my Fantasy squad so I have been watching him a fair amount this season. He has lost his burst big time.

Nope. Our RBs are fine. Offensive line is the issue. People need to realize that.

Well and the fact that our #1 RB, and the only one with any experience, is once again hurt.

But, yeah, other than that they're completely fine.

And before someone says he mentioned this before the game that doesn't matter. If you didn't see Murray getting hurt coming then you haven't watched Murray the last two years. The guy simply can't stay healthy. He couldn't in college either.

Yes...

How many players hit in the 5th or 6th? Draft picks have become ridiculously overvalued. The Jets got Santonio Holmes for a 5th rounder, they've now gotten 3-4 years of production. Would they have gotten that out of a fifth rounder? 98% of the time no.

Even if we get Jones-Drew and he does nothing it's worth a 6th just for the potential that the issue is in Jacksonville.

If we spend a 5th and he goes off behind our much improved line it's a steal, even if we cant afford to keep him next year. Keep in mind franchise tags on RBs aren't that bad and after this atrocious beginning to the season I'm sure Jones-Drews' agent would "advise" him that taking a 3 year, 18M deal with a high guarantee (14m) would be in his best interest as no one is signing a 29 year old RB with injury and production questions to anything more than that.

He could play second fiddle to Murray and fill in when Murray likely gets injured in a few weeks. Playing second fiddle may be motivation enough to get the old Jones-Drew on the field. I'd make the call and do it in a second for a 6th rounder. A 5th rounder I'd likely do it given Murrays injury history. With negotiation we may be able to give a 6th (or really a 7th in this case) with it escalating to a 5th if he reaches production targets.

Very good post

If they only want a 5th or 6th, it seems like a no-brainer.

so you would not take a RB that has had 2 100+ games in row over Murray

unbelievable

There is no room left in the cap.

They got like $20m tied up in Ratliff and Spencer's deals -- consider that fora moment.

The Jags OL is pretty bad - but MJD is not what he once was and not the answer. Watch a couple of Jags game (if you can stand it) - you'll see what I mean.

Hes hates playing there for one. Two every team stacks the box because MJD is all they have.

Murrary has played in 29 out of a possible 38 games since he came into the league. MJD has played in 28 games over that same time period.

Last yr of contract
Great vision

Would you?

why? is he the missing piece? is this team ready to make a playoff push? or a superbowl push? why give up a draft pick for a player that is in the last year of contract and is going to want a lot of money?

no, MJD is not what hurts this team.
