He and GSP are still the 2 fighters I think are the best I have seen.

Anyone else got an ad right in the middle of the action?

I'm using firstrowsports.eu and I get the ad in the middle, but there is a white dot in the right corner that you have to click to get rid of it.

For such a hyped fight that was a yawn fest.

It would be interesting to see Jones fight someone on equal footing with him physically. Rashad landed some good blows and took him the distance, which is an accomplishment, but apart from the headkick the outcome never seemed in doubt. I was surprised he didn't try to get Jones on his back more but maybe Jones is just too darn hard to get down.

There were a few blows that shook both fighters but Rashad went defense after round 2 and Jones just kept him at bay with his reach. Jones may need to move up to make things more of a challenge for him.

Yawn fest if you don't appreciate that this is what happens when two ground fighters face off.

I thought it was a good fight, I'm not sure what others were expecting but I didn't think anyone was going to get knocked out.

Don't get it twisted, Rashad is still one of the best. Unfortunately, he had no real answers for Jones' length.

Jones has NEVER been taken down. Rashad knew that wasn't the path to victory so he tried to stand up.

Rashad did pretty darn well considering he had an almost 10" reach disadvantage. That's crazy.

Is there any one left for Jones to fight at LHW?

On tap for Jones, Dan Henderson.
Yup. Should be another easy victory for Jones. But you never know with Hendo's brick of a right hand. Jones' chin is really the only thing left to be tested. He showed he could respond to adversity against Machida. Proved his cardio could carry him through 5 tough rounds tonight.

If he gets through Hendo, there's not much left at 205. Dear God, please let Jones / Anderson Silva happen in 2013.

what do you mean?

He looked old as ****.

Looked like he went from middle aged to retirement aged in no time at all and I think shaving the head really made him look old.

To me, that's the UFC in a nutshell.

On a side note, Bones is from Ithaca where I went to college. I've met him at the bar a couple of times because my roommate used to work for him (designed his shorts/banner, stuff like that) and he's a real cool guy, always buys me shots :laugh2:

He also takes home any girl he darn well pleases.

Isn't he happily married with kid(s)?

I don't know what Dan's gonna do with that length either, but this is another one of those fights where the wrestling should cancel out and we're going to have to watch something very similar to what we just saw. Five rounds of Dan trying to get in range to land a haymaker.

I thought the fight was impressive to be honest.

I am by no means an expert but the way jones continuously attacked from a variety of different approaches was impressive to me.

The short elbows in the 2nd were absolutely awesome. Just using them at will.

I think people should probably get used to fights like that.

As the sport evolves, I think it's going to become more common that you see a technical dual for round after round as opposed to seeing one guy overextend himself and get caught.

I absolutely loved Jones' response when Rogan asked him about pulling guard at the end.

Dude's awesome. I think he's the type of guy who could be successful at anything he does because he has the ability, he has the brains and he has the desire to improve day in and day out.

A lot of guys have awesome ability or whatnot but I think what separates the elite from the rest of the pack is the absolutely desire to improve at all costs. Complacency will take everything you've worked for if you stop working.

Side note, anyone see the dude go swimming after getting knocked out?

Just reaching for the stars, eyes crossed as all hell?

That's was great.
