So now if fights from bad blood, or supposed bad blood, don't end in knock outs or impressive finishes they're fixed?

Yeah that's it. Run with that.

Sorry man but I'm just not going to buy into stuff like that. I am sure there is a chance it does happen but I'm not going to buy into things like that going on without some really solid evidence proving that it does happening.

Fair enough. Nobody is asking you to.

Pulling that out of the air because the fight didn't go the way you believe it should is just nonsense, IMHO.

OK.

No. Could not be more wrong. I do think that there is definitely the possibility that the fight was fixed. If you wanted to stage a rematch, this would be exactly what you would want to do. On the other hand, the point you make about me thinking Jones is not any good is so out of the question, I am shocked you could even come to this conclusion. It is because I believe he is so good that I have these doubts and questions. How could you come to this conclusion? He is younger, stronger, more skilled and better conditioned. He should win this fight going away and he didn't. That's the problem. His camp should be worried because this is a fight he should have won much more impressively.

He did easily win the fight, I don't know how you could say otherwise. That you keep standing by the idea that the fight was fixed is actually getting kind of funny. That's like saying a football game is fixed if the RB ran for 200 yards and 3 scores the game before and only 50 and 1 score the next. Again, I know you don't want to hear it, but this often happens when wrestlers face off.

That is a question that only Evans can answer but you asked me what he would do, did you not? Well, there are pretty much only two answers here. Retire or continue to fight..

Actually. I asked you who you thought Rashad should fight next, not whether he should retire or not. You got to retirement on your own, and you didn't even bother to answer the question. :laugh2:

As I said earlier, I think this is definitely a possibility. He has a history of moving around in weight classes and he's been successful with it. I would not be surprised to see him do this again.

He does not have a history of moving around in weight classes. He fought at heavyweight because that's the season they were casting for ultimate fighter, before that he had only fought at light heavy and since that he's only fought at light heavy.

Sorry man I just can't see where you're getting the idea was fixed other than it didn't end like you thought it should have.

I don't see anything that would indicate that fight was fixed and this is far from the first time that a fight that people thought would end in a KO, or submission, or the hatred between the two (supposed or real) would lead to fireworks...only to have the fight go just like it did.

They're great fighters and these things happen, IMO.

I'm sure everyone expected Hughes vs. Serra to end in spectacular fashion as well, because of the heat between them, only to see Hughes simply take him down over and over and control the fight and work out a decision.

Did you feel that fight was fixed as well?

That's what I'm trying to figure out is what happened, other than someone not winning in the impressive way you felt that they should have, which in MMA is simply never a given and I know you're aware of that, that makes this one a possibly fixed fight?

Don't want to get in the middle of this debate, but I thought I would address this.

Rashad doesn't have a history of jumping around weight divisions. He has one fight on his record outside of the LHW division, and that is when he fought at TUF Finale against Brad Imes. He went right back down to LHW in his next fight, and has not fought again at HW, or any other division.

His trip up to HW for The Ultimate Fighter was simply for the show. Alot of fighters in the original seasons of the show packed on weight, fighting out of their original divisions, just to be on the show, and to have a shot in the UFC.

Mike Swick fought at LHW, and is now a WW.

Kenny Florian fought at MW, and finished his career as a FW.

Keith Jardine fought as a HW, and is now a MW.

Alex Karalexis fought as a MW, ended up at LW.

I'm sure there are more, but it's still early morning and I haven't gotten all the cobwebs out of my brain yet. :D

With that said, if Rashad gets a chance at a top fight at MW, he'd be crazy not to jump at it. He has to be at the realization that he has nothing more than a punchers chance against Jon Jones as long as Jon decides to keep that belt. If he can make a big payday with a super fight against Anderson Silva, or fight someone like Belfort, Bisping or Chael, he would almost certainly cash in on that opportunity.
