Isn't he happily married with kid(s)?
First I'd heard that. I found that he's engaged with three kids, but not married.

With athletes though, I don't know that marriage is super important when it comes to getting some :laugh2:

Rashad is my favorite fighter. I hope he gets a rematch. I would've liked to have seen him go for more take downs. I thought once when he had his back he could've gone for the slam.

I think Rashad is so much more skilled than Jones but Jones length is just too much to overcome.

If Rashad was in Jon Jones body and vice versa I think Rashad ends that fight.

I want a rematch.

IMO, this fight was either fixed or Jones has a lot to be worried about. Evans is 32, he trained at sea level and it showed after the 3rd round IMO. Jones is younger, trained at altitude and had a 10 inch reach on Evans and he did nothing to really hurt Evans. Jones really should have knocked him out IMO. Evans was made to order for him and he could do nothing. I'm shocked that the fight went the way it did. This was either a huge set up or seriously, the Jones camp better start worrying about Jones.

I think you under rate Rashad.

He is probably the best underdog fighter in the UFC. He's only lost 1 fight and thats because he was fighting like an idiot.

Rashad is just more skilled than Jon Jones. Jones only beat him because of his reach.

Not at all Catch. I like Rashad and have followed him very closely. Heck, he used to train right here in Albuquerque. I like Rashad but he has looked old his last two fights. Jones should have beat the crap out of him and he couldn't do it. I agree, Rashad is probably more experienced, he certainly has better hand speed and power but, 10 inches and a better conditioned athlete with youth in favor of him should have really won this fight going away. Has nothing at all to do with Rashad. Great, great fighter but he's 32 and this is not a game for old men. I'm telling you, the Jones camp better start paying attention to this.

I noticed no hugs after the fight. Is there bad blood there?

Should not be. Those guys are pretty tight. You see them together all the time here, or at least you used to before they went into training. They used to hang out down at Nob Hill area all the time.

However, you are absolutely right Hos. No interaction after the fight. I have to wonder if this wasn't set up to be a rematch fight all along. As I eluded to earlier, it seems as if this fight should have been way different. I can see Bones taking a scrub fight and then giving Evans a rematch. I can also see Evans retiring shortly after that or if they work it so Evans wins the rematch, then Bones getting an immediate rematch and taking the title back and then Evans retiring. This just smells a little too much like payday to me. IDK.

Evans is extremely good at running away after Machida KO'd him he's been one of the most boring fighters in all of mma. Not getting KO'd is a win for him it seems like.

In round 4 it was pretty clear he was losing the fight yet he kept moonwalking, he seemed content by just not getting knocked out. Based on this fight Evans does not deserve a rematch

Evans is only 32 I think he still has some years left in him. He has had a ton of ring rust as well because he was injured for so long.

But yeah Rashad doesn't like Jones because they agreed to never fight each other and their coach said that they would never fight each other and if it came down to it he would pick Rashad over Jon Jones.

Oh well. I hope we get a rematch because nobody else stands a chance against Jones.

Seems like MMA goes through cycles and phases. 4-5 years ago it was wrestling ground and pounders, but everyone's shoot defense got too strong. Now the sport is going through a reach/jab phase with Jones & the Diaz Bros. GSP was also using a lot of jabs in his Koz and Shields fights.

I'm telling you this is wrong Catch. That whole, never fight thing was staged. They were hanging out with each other after that. That's show.

Jones-Evans was the most boring fight on the card. Jones was content just to keep him at bay and slap him around while Evans was kind enough to get slapped around. He could not get inside of Jones' reach.

That Rothwell-Schaub fight was amazing. It looked like Schaub had him on the ropes, only to get knocked out less than ten seconds later.

I love Schaub climbing the imaginary rope. He was so out of it!

There's no one who can match him physically as a LHW.

Not every fight ends in a knockout. When two ground fighters fight, this is usually what happens. You'll notice Jones didn't unleash his usual barage of kicks, spinning elbows, etc. Because he didn't want to get taken down and dry humped to a decision, which Rashad WILL do if you give him the opportunity.

Rashad was not "made to order" for Jones, the fact that the fight wasn't a slug fest means it was fixed? Gimmie a break.

I want a rematch.

He's not going to get one because he didn't do much of anything to suggest a rematch might have a different outcome. Not unless he clears everyone else out again or Jones loses.

The idea that the beef is faked is ridiculous. The circumstances that have played out aren't just talk for the camera, Rashad didn't leave his longtime camp, the same camp that helped him become champ, for the sake of selling one fight.

The thing about fighting is even if you dislike someone, after you fight them, the beef tends to dissipate. What more is there left to say? Even if they don't become besties, they can be civil afterwards just like they were civil before the fight.

Sure there is, Alexander Gustafsson, but he's still a few fights away. Gustafsson should be next up for Bader, Machida or maybe even Shogun. If he wins that fight he might earn himself a shot.

Yawn fest if you don't appreciate that this is what happens when two ground fighters face off.

I thought it was a good fight, I'm not sure what others were expecting but I didn't think anyone was going to get knocked out.

Don't get it twisted, Rashad is still one of the best. Unfortunately, he had no real answers for Jones' length.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm thrilled that Jones won. I absolutely can't stand Evans. So I'm thrilled he got beat.

And it's obvious since Machida knocked him stupid that Evans fights not to be put on a highlight reel rather than fighting to win.

He doesn't seem to care if he loses just so long as he's not knocked out in spectacular fashion.

Its my understanding that there is definately bad blood there. It stems initially from Evans being pissed off about a comment that Jones would fight him if the UFC saw fit to make them fight. This was back when they were training together in the same camp.

Evans apparently was really upset because the two had apparently agreed that they'd never fight and then Jones said he would fight him if the UFC told him to.

Then Evans went to try to steal his spotlight after he won the belt and after his first defense, though this was likely more the UFC and Dana than it was Evans himself, and things Evans starting saying in interviews about how he knew exactly how to beat Jones, and how he would throw him around in practice and hold him down, caused Jones to start to really not like Evans.

That's my understanding anyway.

Augh, no. When you have a 32 year old fighter who is not in great shape against a 24 year old fighter with 10 inches reach and in much better condition, this is not what usually happens. He never hurt Evans really and he never pressed the fight at all IMO. Evans had opportunity to take Jones down and he really could not do it.

Rashad Evans WAS made to order for Jon Jones, he just didn't do anything with it IMO. However, well soon see. I'll pass on you break comment. I have a feeling that you won't bringing that up again if in fact this is a quick rematch. Feel free to bring it up repeatedly if I am wrong but I won't be.

I think that this is all show. Again, these guys hang out with each other in clubs her in Albuquerque. You see them and it's pretty easy to see that they aren't pissed off with each other.

I think it's all part of the show but it doesn't really matter. Time will eventually tell the tail.

Down the road a little, yes, but I think AG needs a few more fights before he's ready for Jones.

Man I hope you're right.

Rashad can beat this guy but he's gotta chop him down.

People can blame Rashad for being boring but Jones was equally as boring by just trying to use his length advantage.
