Jones says Garrett will return as Head Coach for 2014

You mean Jerry's teams. We all know who runs the show.

Jerry has been running the show ever since Jimmy left but it was Jimmy running the show when he was the coach. He was the unofficial GM who handled all football moves.

Well, again, and this is not going to go over very well, but, when Jimmy took over the team there was no salary cap. If anyone does not recognize that and how the team was built under Jimmy and now Garrett, then they must not understand how the the NFL has changed since those times.

Jimmy did not have the same success after he left for Miami. Now, saying that...Jimmy is 50 times a better coach than Garrett. But, Jimmy did have the advantage of no salary cap and was a successful College coach before he became an NFL coach.

Jimmy had balls made of brass which carried over to the players.

Just before this quote in the same article there was this:

"And when asked directly if Garrett would be the coach next year, Jones emphatically said, “yes.”"

Is that a guarantee? I'll let you guys figure it out.

He had to say that in response to a direct question. We are in the middle of a playoff run, there was no other correct answer.

Jerry jones said Jason Garrett will return as coach next year. How they finish will not impact that. guaranteed Garrett's return in 2014.

Nice knowing you guys, Ive got some pills to go take.

That totally sucks. This organization is really going downhill really fast. Garrett is nothing more than a puppet of Jones and really doesn't provide that coaching experience that this team needs.

It really doesn't matter who's the coach as long as Jerry's running things.

WHAT IS JJ REALLY GOING TO SAY IN THAT SITUATION?

Come on people. If he said, " No his job is not safe" it could doom the season. No GM comes out and says their coach could be fired halfway into a season.

He did the same thing with Wade.

We're the reason there is a cap now. Lol

Jerry could have said that the season will be under review after the season is over. But, he should never guarantee nothing to the HC or anyone else because they may think everything is OK because my job is safe.

And....if he does not let Garrett stay next year and he fires him, there should never ever be another successful coach that would want to play for a liar.

bump
just wanted to keep the momentum of this thread going!
keep it going until the offseason when we hire a new coach, than rename it.

Why say anything at all is my question.....

Players are happy about it big time. Go to dallascowboys.com and watch the videos :) Especially Dez Bryant and Hatcher. May make some of your re-think your narrative.

Hatcher is out of here as soon as the season is over. More concerned with "bad film" than trying to win football games. What a ringing endorsement that was. Actions>>Words

lol

You know what? I think you just might be right. And, maybe Jerry started that because his teams under Jimmy were so damn dominate that owners that were not as rich as Jerry wanted some sort of balance of power, otherwise Jerry was supposed to compensate other owners with some coin and Jerry said hell no. Let's pus a salary cap in place so that every team has X amount of money to spend on the team.

But, whoever made that salary cap rule got what we have today. No longer are the Cowboy or any other team eve going to become a dynasty like the 90's Cowboys, or Stealers, or the 49'ers, etc.

Give us a 7-10 yr period with no cap and watch what happens to the NFL again lol..

Yup, he wishes Garrett the best of luck in the future and think the Dallas Cowboys will be lucky to have him. Dude doesn't even pretend that there is a chance he's sticking around.

Jerry Jones and his secret sauce, damn that stuff must have some kick in it.
