He’s gonna run the ball a ton. So they better draft a RB and bring in some more OL.

I would not be shocked at all if Jeanty is the pick. I am fine with that btw. But then also need some more OL depth too.

Schottenheimer is fine, get him hired and get going already so we can all move on. This has to be the longest coaching search in football history.

If they are still angry at Mike for the GB game, they need to get over it thats a year ago and Mike is gone. These guys need to think get with the present.

Thats fine, at least its a plan and a direction. This indecision and uncertainty is boring and stupid.

Moore was released because McCarthy wanted to call the plays. It's as simple as that. Some coaches call plays, some don't. There's no guarantee that Schottenheimer, if he's even hired, will call plays. He might, he might not.
Understood, but Jori Epstein was not talking about Kellen Moore. You are correct McCarthy wanted to call the plays but it is common practice for offensive coordinators to call plays. Not always but usually.

As such, McCarthy had more confidence in his ability to call plays than in his offensive coordinator's ability. That observation is irrefutable. If a coordinator cannot be tasked with the responsibility of their position...

...a task and responsibility which offensive coordinator Kellen Moore was released from doing...

...the lack of responsibility should be a consideration when hiring a coach for a more responsible position.

Evidence.

You're missing the point. McCarthy WANTED to call the plays. He did not want anyone else to call them, regardless of how proficient they were at doing so. They could've had McVay and Payton as co-OC's and McCarthy would still want to call the plays. There's more to being an OC than just calling plays.

Hahaha! Schottenheimer is going to be the sacrificial lamb. This season is going to be a complete wash and they're going to end up in the Arch Manning sweepstakes.
I’m only for it, if that is the case. But this is all about continuity for said QB.

This counts as “analysis”? Lol

The results speak for themselves. Has he succeeded anywhere? He may be a “nice guy” that gets “interpersonal relationships” and understands the “dynamics of the Jones family” but Epstein acts like the guy somehow gets the best out of players?

Really? He wasn’t calling plays the past two years— so theoretically he should have had all this time to get the “3rd WR to play like a 2” — and yet the exact opposite happened this year.

The offense sucked. Why does he deserve a promotion?!

I swear what passes for “journalism” these days looks exactly like what I flush down the toilet every morning— and is worth about as much.
If she's given access to the team like this then she's been bought and there is no independent sports journalism happening here. Thats how Jerry rolls. You play nice and make us look good or we cut you off. Thats why the Dallas media doesn't just flay Jerry. They are all either fearful or on the payroll.

John Madden used to let his QB call the plays..

I wonder how the fanbase would feel if that happened here.. lol

I thought every Cowboys fans knew the answer?

Familiarity, subservient , unwanted, unknown, compliant, non-demanding, inexpensive, etc etc.......but it doesn't guarantee he will be a great or a bad HC

If he does get hired, I would LOVE it if he actually turns out to be a great HC

Jori has the worst case of vocal fry. Now, if she starts using her hands to explain things she is as coherent as a Kardashian.
Her assertion that Schotty knows and understands the system is vacuous. There are others who know the system as well.
As for Yoda, his indecisiveness about making a hire has turned to desperation.

Make a last-ditch effort for Gruden!

If that fails, Zim looks like a winner next to the unremarkable Schottenheimer.
Even Neon is better than Schotty.

So basically - he's comfortable with the Jones family, he's comfortable with Dak and while Big Mike didn't work out - maybe someone on his staff with little to no success elsewhere might work out. So we'll give it a shot..probably will end badly, but hey - we tried.
It's important that everyone in this catastrophe of an organization is comfortable.
