Didn't Mike McCarthy start making all the play calls when Kellen Moore left--despite the fact Schottenheimmer was his offensive coordinator?

Shot has never called plays. He was the OC but MM called plays. Can he call plays? Probably. But HC is about so much more. This screams of hiring the guy who is desperate for a shot so he will do what Jerry wants and won’t cost much

The day I realized Jerry didn't care about winning was when he replaced Parcells with Phillips. Parcells left us a sb contender and Jerry blew it by hiring a mediocre coach and saddling him with a coach in waiting. Jerry doesn't respect coaches and nothing has changed . Now we have his idiot son thinking the same thing. Nothing is ever going to change until we can get a coach who is finally the face of the franchise.

Moore was released because McCarthy wanted to call the plays. It's as simple as that. Some coaches call plays, some don't. There's no guarantee that Schottenheimer, if he's even hired, will call plays. He might, he might not.
