what in terms of what is a priority and what is just fun? I call it maturity
He did well he did not do enough and has been in the NFL since 2011 he is not some rookie. he did not prove enough in Arz and was released before the 2014 season and now with Dallas and still trying to prove himself. I have no issue with it since he pay is nothing and if he does not show he is capable of being on the 46 man roster then Dallas can walk away from the deal no problem. I'm not against him by any means I do find it funny that some want to put their eggs in the basket of a guy who since 2011 has done nothing

I disagree. He was injured in AZ and therefore did not get a fair opportunity to prove enough there. At the price tag Dallas is getting him, he is well worth the gamble. I'm not for putting all the eggs in the basket for him either but I see the great potential in him just judging by his colligate career at Virginia Tech. The Cowboys still need to resign Murray or draft a new guy with great upside.

COWBOYS RANDLE; ANOTHER 'BIGGEST MISTAKE'

Mike FisherCowboysHQ.com

IRVING - The Cowboys habitually argue that Joseph Randle is more 'knucklehead' than 'troublemaker.' But that can be a fine line - and he's allegedly crossed it again. And yet ... sources tell **click-bait**.com that the team is actually breathing a sigh of relief here.

he was in Arz from 2011 season, 2012 season and 2013 season. It is up to the player to prove himself and evidently he could not do that. He comes to Dallas in 2014 does he beat out Randle or Dunbar? No. I hope the best for this guy but we are not talking some rookie he has been around and has yet to do anything.

Maybe it wasn't his weed. Maybe it was her weed. Maybe he is clean and innocent.

Anyway, it could be worse. The Colts just had a player get arrested for beating a pizza deliveryman in a parking lot. And the Packers just had a DL arrested for having a gun, .8 pounds of weed, and $190K in cash.

All idiots. Way to throw a gift away.

How you react to this news really depends on your opinion of marijuana usage. Judging by what I am reading in this thread, we have a lot of potheads at CZ.

It doesn't matter if one supports or opposes marijuana use. What matters is the NFL suspends people for using it. They also make it fairly easy to pass their drug testing protocol, so any player actually suspended typically was very reckless.

I agree and I take no comfort that other team players have gotten themselves in trouble, really only care about Cowboy players. If these guys have to miss anytime that is the Colts and GB problem. The part that bothers me the most is this now becomes the 2nd incident involving Randle.

He ruptured his patella tendon his rookie season. He was the No. 38 overall pick in the 2011 draft so he has ability. He impressed the coaching staff enough to be retained on the practice squad after not making the team. I see no down side in giving him another opportunity.

It all goes to the ability to make good decisions. Yes, marijuana usage in and of itself, is a small potato but it rarely is the only bad decision that a marijuana user is making.

In an NFL context, I'd agree with you. But only because they have (silly) restrictions against a drug that doesn't affect a player's on field performance in any way. In wider society in general, pot use is akin to alcohol use. It's very, very easy to use it responsibly if you have an ounce of sense in your head.

But I suppose we all make multiple bad decisions in the scheme of things, so maybe you're not wrong in that sense, either.

I'm hardly a pothead, but I still recognize that marijuana is small potatoes. Like, really really small potatoes. Again, though, this incident is a lot more about staying out of compromising situations than it is about a joint or a girl in a hotel room.

If you have an NFL gig, you simply have to stay out of this sort of drama. It can kill your career, and it definitely will keep a team from giving you a big deal. Not because of the joint, but because of the time you might miss because of the joint. I could be baked out of my mind right now as I type and still be like 'dude, that was a stupid situation you got yourself into' and there wouldn't be anything hypocritical about it. Randle is simply proving again that he's to undependable to trust as a starter on your team. So, we know that now. He can be a role player, but we ought to be on to the next guy if we're looking for a long-term solution not named 'Murray. '

Agree, Its not a moral or legal issue. It is a stupidity issue. The league says it is forbidden as their rule. Just like some companies still ban it in Denver or Wash as a term of employment.

If I was getting $400K-$500K per year and could lose some/all of it or jeopardize a next contract worth $1M per, I would think I could abstain. Definitely shows a lack of accountability and dependability.

If you are genetically predisposed to alcoholism it is not an easy task to responsibly use alcohol. I suspect science will catch up and find the same to be said for marijuana.

I agree with you in that we all make bad decisions in the process of maturation but it's just compounded when the use of drugs is added. (including alcohol).

I wasn't commenting on what is most important. I was commenting on the responses that seemed most prevalent in this thread.
