My old coach told us after we lost to a much inferior team that lucky teams can beat a good team any day...he'd rather us give our all and be lucky and win, than to be good and lose. That always stuck with me....

Even though I don't remember who said this, I've always liked this quote. "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard".

This is about the point in the argument where my mother would start throwing shoes and hangers, screaming about how much she hates hearing people bicker.

Have you noticed that no one ever 'wins' these debates? Nothing that gets said changes anyone's mind. There is only one way this nonsense ends - Dak has to win something meaningful. Until that happens this is what we have.

Same thing can be said for Dak. Except change injury to injuries at this point and add 3 more years to the age. So where does that put us?

I do not root against any player that wears the star, but to put down someone who has accomplished more (albeit slightly) than someone on our team just because it makes us feel better about our guy is ludicrious.

Your statement really is a great example of the saying "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones".

Now that said, I am rooting for Dak to win with us. Sure he can turn it around and do so, but so can Allen (alluding to your original statement with this part).
It puts us in great shape now. The Cowboys are looking good.

True. It's ridiculous to allow people to have their opinions. I don't care for hate talk either, but you can't expect the mods to only allow those opinions with which you agree.
They're not opinions. They're here to stir the pot. Grown *** men find joy in acting like a scorned, grade school child. I almost feel sorry for them yet I realize they do it with spite.

After the season opener for the Bills versus the Rams and their second game versus the Titans, people on this board praised Josh Allen as if he could never do any wrong barring injury.

I am just curious if after that 18 of 34 for 205, 2 pick game he lost yesterday against a team who was a double digit division underdog, I wonder if those people feel the same way about ole Josh today.

Dare I say it but what if Dak did the same against the G-Giants, Eagles or Commanders given a similar situation. By the way, why isn't Aaron Rogers not elevating the players around him? I know Tom is old as hades and he has a plethora of skins on the wall, but it seems to me he's struggling mightily. Did you see that emotional hug between him and Leftwich after they squeaked out that win yesterday? All I'm saying is, winning in the NFL on a consistent level ain't as easy as the highly sometimes biased and negative talking points some of us make on this board.

My old coach told us after we lost to a much inferior team that lucky teams can beat a good team any day...he'd rather us give our all and be lucky and win, than to be good and lose. That always stuck with me....

If you would take Dak over Josh Allen then you need help and the fact you have to start a thread to denounce a QB that is clearly better than Dak just to elevate Dak is as pathetic as Dak is at elevating this team to the playoff run.

I still cant figure out why anyone would not love Dak as our QB? The guy is amazing. And to think we scored him with a 4th round pick. He should be hailed.

Its the sad Romo lovers that simply cant get over the fact that Romo quit on them. I loved Romo too, but it was time for him to go. And to have a guy like Dak ready to take over was a miracle.

Explain elevating the team... I need to know what this looks like, if the team is playing bad, what does a QB "Elevating" the team look like...do you have an example? Seriously would love an example of this

I watched Hurts a lot this year. He has about as much responsibility as Aikman did. The guy is blessed. he basically takes the snap and hands the ball off. Once in a while he will do a play action pass with a receiver streaking wide open over the middle with all the time in the world to throw.

I think their easy schedule will come back to bite them in the playoffs. The last game at the end of the season might even be moot by the time we play it. Eagles may have the division and the top seed already wrapped up.
I almost agree with everything you stated with one caveat. Untill the egirls get the 1st game in the loss column, every team will be gunning for them, which in my opinion means they will get every team's best effort. This negates some of the easy schedule narrative and may actually prepare them for the post season.

If you have to ask for an example then clearly you have never seen Dak do it.

Looking at the schedule its actually not as easy as I thought. They will lose a couple games, but still win the division.

Elevated us right out of the playoffs last year and took his 30 QBR with him.
