Josh Allen is exactly what the Cowboys hope Dak will become

Dak is entering his 7th season whereas Allen is entering his 5th season.

Josh Allen has an overall record of 40-21 (.656 winning %), went to an AFC Championship game, and has a 3-3 career playoff record.

Dak has an overall record of 53-32 (.624 winning %), has never gone to an NFC Championship game, and has a 1-3 career playoff record.


The fact is Allen's career path is quickly becoming one of a Top 3 QB while Dak's career path is, well, much like the Cowboys path the last 25+ years....full of promise and stats with no playoff results.

Many, as you say, felt the same about RG3...Guess what, it didn't work out and after 6 years it hasn't worked out for Dak either. Burrow is much younger than Dak and already shows more promise than Dak ever will.

Josh Allen is twice as physically talented as Prescott, and his understanding of the game is catching up.

Dak is pretty damn smart, but he doesn't really have any above-average athletic traits except for rushing power. He was a plus athlete, but lost that edge to injury.

Dak actually reminds me a lot of a mid-career Donovan McNabb, if McNabb never lost his self confidence and didn't let Philly grind him down.

OTOH, Josh Allen is like the best possible version of Cam Newton, like if Cam grinded on his flaws and wasn't content with throwing 58% completions every season.

The McNabb comparison is accurate and terrifying. Late last season Dak looked like old, washed up McNabb.

I do not believe that the Bills have better weapons than what Dak has had in the past but Allen has elevated the talent with his play. While in Dallas, I do believe we overrate our talent, I believe Amari Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, Schultz, Zeke are much better weapons than what Allen is working with.

It's simple: If you want to get paid the big boy bucks, you have to play like a big boy.

If you want a Josh Allen, then let's tank 0-17 for a couple of years and hope Jerry picks the right guys. Other than that, every team wants a Josh Allen.
