Josh Allen is exactly what the Cowboys hope Dak will become

We’ve been doing that for what 26 years what’s another 20 give or take.
Only problem with that is a lot of us here probably don't have 20yrs to wait, maybe the bills would trade Allen straight up for dak to speed up the process,I mean,it's been said on here that dak is elite, the bills would probably jump on that, right?

I don’t have 20 left, you do get a chuckle from the folks saying Dak is as good or better than Allen, Mahomes and just point to stats and keep telling us about Daks intangibles but to this point the only intangible I see is the tangible choking in money games. Many point at stats and wins with Dak without context and you can’t help them. Enjoy the games win or lose nothing is changing with a Jones in charge.

There are no QBs that teams hope will be Josh Allen, none. Some could end up being better passers or better runners with speed and agility, but neither Dak nor any other QB is currently expected to have Josh Allen’s power.

Allen uses his legs a lot. Dak refuses too. Dak can still use his feet and size to pickup a few key first downs….. but again he stopped doing it.

you don’t need to be the fastest guy in the world to do it….Dak was better when he used to use his legs. As a strict pocket passer it isn’t going to work for him.

I don’t get why he’s still stubborn… a guy like Russell Wilson still used his legs and he’s older than dak.

He was scared of getting reinjured last season. We'll see if he is still scared tomorrow night

ESPN currently working on adding intangibles like “community outreach” and “commanding the huddle” into their QBR rankings.

I do not believe that the Bills have better weapons than what Dak has had in the past but Allen has elevated the talent with his play. While in Dallas, I do believe we overrate our talent, I believe Amari Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, Schultz, Zeke are much better weapons than what Allen is working with.

It's simple: If you want to get paid the big boy bucks, you have to play like a big boy.
If the Cowboys are ever going to get above mediocre, it won’t be because Dak is playing like Josh Allen or Patrick Mahomes or Aaron Rodgers. We will start winning when we have a team that plays as a team.

Expecting Dak to wear a red cape based entirely on his paycheck is silly in my view. NFL QBs who get a second contract are ALL overpaid. It’s the market for QBs. Dak is never going to be Josh Allen or Mahomes. But we CAN win with Dak. But it won’t be because he carries us every week.

If we have some other players play well in key roles and our coaches- especially Kellen Moore- wil ever scheme his players into better positions to succeed, this team can succeed. Putting all chips on Dak as if he’s the same guy as the top 3-4 QBs in the league is silly. He’s perhaps a top 8-10 guy as a QB which is very good and hard to find. And he’s being paid that way. But he’s not Superman.

Unfortunately, Dak doesn't have that bazooka for a right arm that Allen has.

I was way wrong on Allen. He wasn't even a 60% passer in college and I was convinced that guys don't actually get more accurate in the NFL. Was I way wrong!
It's amazing to me Mayfield and Darnold went ahead of Allen. How stupid are the Browns. Imagine that team with Allen in 2020.

Even Josh Rosen was rated higher than Allen on some draft boards.

Wasn’t stupid. Allen’s accuracy was in question. He deserves his props….the player he is today he worked hard to get there and many didn’t see it.

This is one of the strangest takes I have ever read.

Josh Allen plays with a top 3 WR and the Bills have built up the offense around him.
He's had an elite defense for years now.

Allen makes a ton of mistakes and misreads but has so much insane raw talent that is doesn't matter.
He throws into coverage and his arm plus WR talent make that a TD.
He misses reads but can shake off pass rushers and just go for 20 yards.

He tosses a pick and his defense simply gets the ball back two plays later.

Dak is a very different type player and athlete.
Dak is much farther along in the mental aspects of the game but has never been that naturally gifted,

Allen also has a much better Oline. Much better. And the scheme and coaching are also much better.

I would take Dak's weapons of PAST over Allens, but this offense is forced to pound a slow and plodding Zeke up the middle. And certainly Allen doesnt have to deal with the most penalized team in the NFL.

These same clowns were telling us Dak was another inaccurate Allen his first few years in the league while we were telling them that Allen had great talent. As the team around Allen has gotten better so has he. While Dak's team and Oline around him has faded. Yet Dak still had the #1 yardage and scoring offense in the NFL. What seperates Allen from Dak as a QB is his running ability. Its incredible. As passers they are similar.

Exactly. These guys don’t know what they have in Dak and I’m tired of reminding them lol. Josh Allen would suck in Dallas.

Dak has probably reached his ceiling. It’s going to be very difficult for him to take it to another level with what he currently has around him on offense. We should get a pretty good idea tomorrow night what his and the teams chances are for having a good season.

When Dak has good Oline play he plays elite as anyone. Once you get to the level of a top 7 or 8 QB there is very little difference. Usually its the ability in the pocket to extend plays. Then it simply comes down to the talent around them and coaching.

Most football fans, I would say 80% dont understand this simple concept of players around the QB.

The OP here is typical of the terrible attitude that prevails with far too many of our fans. I'm referring to the ones who are never satisfied. Dak is good enough of his own volition, without being roundly criticized by types who are never satisfied. No QB wants to be put into the position of trying to please people like that. Nobody can totally re-invent themself and it's far from fair to expect it. We are all who we are and deserve to be treated fairly as such.

Some of these fans really deserved Paxton Lynch and Connor Cook……

Oh, Buffalo is a solid team and talented in many ways...agreed. On the same token, so is Dallas and their quarterback is pretty good in the Dallas system.

Neither has to apologize for anything until at least 2 games are played....and for the record, not many teams have lost their first two games and won a Lombardi.

Right off the bat, Dallas has two tough ones from the start.

At least be a fan that respects that struggle..and for the record, they both could be won by the Cowboys.:starspin:
