Wait a minute, I thought they wanted him to be like Rodgers, Mahomes, Brady, Cousins, Hurts, Carr, Herbert, Burrows, Wentz, Garrapolo, Stafford, Jones, Goff, Winston, Jackson, Murray, Wilson, etc. You missed a few.

I personally think Mahomes was only mahomes because of the talent around him. He had unusually above par uniquely talented weapons. As he loses more of those, his play will degrade, and I do not think he ever gets to another superbowl. Him buying time with Hill's speed was something he will not have again. I think he has a short career due to injury.

He is good though.
I've tried to tell people this, but they think it's crazy.

I do not believe that the Bills have better weapons than what Dak has had in the past but Allen has elevated the talent with his play. While in Dallas, I do believe we overrate our talent, I believe Amari Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, Schultz, Zeke are much better weapons than what Allen is working with.

It's simple: If you want to get paid the big boy bucks, you have to play like a big boy.
Daks arm is no where near Allen’s and he’s a few steps slower I. Top of being 3 inches shorter. He might be a better leader though.

What Prescott can become when? In his 30's?

He is what he is. Which is Josh Allen without the talent.

Just playing the devil's advocate, I like my quarterback. However, for those who covet Josh Allen...........

Let's say the Cowboys traded for the pick which was the 7th overall in the 2019 draft.

I think the Cowboys could have gotten him for Dak, their #1 and #2 pick in the 2019 draft plus their #1 in the 2020 draft. Agreed?

So essentially, the Cowboys would have gained Josh Allen and they would have lost Dak, LVE, Connor Williams, and Amari Cooper.

I leave all of you to judge the merits of such a trade.

I don’t have 20 left, you do get a chuckle from the folks saying Dak is as good or better than Allen, Mahomes and just point to stats and keep telling us about Daks intangibles but to this point the only intangible I see is the tangible choking in money games. Many point at stats and wins with Dak without context and you can’t help them. Enjoy the games win or lose nothing is changing with a Jones in charge.
The money games is exactly what brings out the best or worst in a QB. In Daks case he does exposed. The funny thing about this whole Josh Allen debate is a few years ago some people on this forum were calling him garbage right before him and Beasley came into Dallas on Thanksgiving and beat the snot out the Cowboys.
I guess Beasley is that great talent that was surrounding Allen. Dak in the meantime was pathetic in that game. And Dak was the more seasoned QB and playing at home in a much needed game for Dallas.

Imagine acting like it's a QB against an entire other team.

Keep that same energy for Dak, AC.
Hey, I'm only throwing back at you Dak haters what you all spew around here by only blaming Dak...along with the super lame "reasons" behind your hating. lol

BTW, why haven't you joined the CZ's Yahoo Sports Fantasy Pick'em Group like I sent you a request? Come on, join and show everyone how smart you really are. ;)

Or are you skrrrd??? :muttley:

Speaking of that game here is clutch Dak and his greatness once again!!!

How did Dak score more points and the offense get more yards than Allen last year? Must be a miracle? I mean, with half the arm strength and 1/3 the awareness?

In 2021 Dak had 37 passing TD's and 1 rushing TD; in 2021 Josh Allen had 36 passing TD's and 6 rushing TD's......so if math serves me well how did Dak score more points than Allen last year?

As for total offensive yards, just a reach but could it be in part because Dallas plays in the NFC Least which saw Dallas score 4 of their 5 highest season totals against NFC Least teams (the other team was Atlanta).

Josh Allen was selected by the Bills with the 7th overall pick in the 2018 draft. Buffalo traded up with TB with the following deal:

TB traded 1st round pick #7 and 7th round pick #255

Buffalo traded their 1st round pick #12, and 2 2nd round picks #53 & #56

Dallas sat at pick #19 in the draft which they used to select MLB LVE.

Based on the draft value chart, TB's #7 pick was worth 1,500 points whereas Dallas' #19 pick was worth 875 points. Dallas' 2nd round pick #50 (which they used to select OG Connor Williams) was worth 400 points.

So while of course all this is impossible to predict given all this is in the past and many variables are involved but had Dallas wanted to make the trade, they could have offered their 2018 1st & 2nd round draft picks as well as their 2019 2nd round draft pick (#58 where they selected Trystin Hill) to make the trade happen.

Keep in mind Dallas had yet to trade their 2019 1st round pick to the Raiders for WR Amari Cooper yet so they in essence then could have traded Dak Prescott for draft picks (given Jimmy G. was traded the year prior for a 2nd round draft pick it is easy to presume Dallas could have gotten a 1st or at least 2 2nd round picks for Dak).

Again, all what if scenario that is meaningless today.

Talking about the offenses. Cowboys lead the NFL in points scored and yards. And take a look at those numbers buddy, not that different. other than coming off a bad ankle, Dak is typically around 5 or 6 rushing TD's a year as well.

Well Josh Allen averaged 8 rushing TD's before the 2021 season so do we go based on that or what he actually did?

what makes Josh Allen so great is his running ability. Much better than Dak in that regard.

It's been 7 years. What you see is what you get at this point.
exactly. and he is not elite. so what? can we win with Dak or not? or do we go QB fishing in the draft? remember, for every Allen, there was 3 other QBs that failed and not even with their original team. and should we not try? we should. the goal is to win. and is it easier to got QB fishing or build a team around Dak.
