Josh Allen is exactly what the Cowboys hope Dak will become

Prescott will never have the arm that Allen has or the running ability.

The difference between BUF and DAL is that BUF is not going to put it all on their QB, they will surround him with talent on both sides of the ball. They have a history of doing this and DAL has just the opposite.

Prescott is not Allen, Mahomes or probably Burrow, Herbert but he is a good QB and can get the job done with a team around him.

I do not believe that the Bills have better weapons than what Dak has had in the past but Allen has elevated the talent with his play. While in Dallas, I do believe we overrate our talent, I believe Amari Cooper, Lamb, Gallup, Schultz, Zeke are much better weapons than what Allen is working with.

It's simple: If you want to get paid the big boy bucks, you have to play like a big boy.

So Dallas is the only team that wants their quarterback to play like J. Allen..... got it.

Dak isn’t and never will be on the same level as Josh Allen.
Cowboys front office may dream of that becoming a reality one day, but it’s a pipe dream.

We all know what Dak is at this point. He is not going to reinvent himself in year 7.

There have been many quarterbacks who've had more success after year 6 or 7. But I guess that doesn't apply to any opportunities for Dak to improve.

Allen is definitely better than Dak, AND he has better receivers than we ever did. DIggs is better than any receiver that Dak has ever had, and Davis matches up with Lamb or anyone else we have had. Schultz is a slightly better TE than Knox but neither is a game changer. We do have better running backs than they do.

Dak already proved you don't have to play like the big boys to get paid like the big boys.

Other than Brady, and MAYBE Mahomes.... name the other quarterbacks who are actually earning their "big boy" max dollars..... last i checked, Dak is a quarterback who got paid. He got paid just like other quarterbacks with lesser production got paid.

So other quarterbacks can get paid, but Dak isn't supposed to in this qb market??? Lol... that doesn't make sense.

Allen is the best young QB in the league so it’s a high standard to apply to Dak.

At least Dak is better than Wentz and Goff, his peers from the 2016 draft.

And I remember when there were "football for dummies" book club members here claiming Wentz and Goff was better than Dak.....

Not really. And it's not about success, this thread implies that Dak still has this amazing upside. At year 7, there are very few examples of QB's who took some amazing leap forward. What we need is a GM who understands this and builds around Dak accordingly. Dak is a good QB as is. Take what he is and maximize his talents instead of wishing and hoping he'll magically become Mahomes.

I think you pay attention to a lot of people you should not. There were only a very few on the Wentz/Goff bandwagon.

The QB market makes no sense.

Honestly don’t think for a second that the cowboys think Dak can be Allen. And really Allen has a complete team it remains to be seen if the cowboys will

Allen was taken what 7th overall Dak was 116? Cowboys just have different philosophy they have been bargain bin shopping since 2001 at qb.I think that’s the year they went after the immortal QC

they got lucky with Romo and Got lucky with Dak. They are in contention literally every year and they have not been in position to draft a top rated qb very often
Since 2006 they have felt like they had their guy and thus far it hasn’t panned out. They have spent a lot of resources in other spots and have come close.

I’ll be interested to see what they do if the cowboys flop this year. I mean poor record flop . Do they go after a qb early? Dak isn’t headed anywhere for at least 2 to 3 if at all but to think he is going to have all the tools that a qb picked at 7 does well I don’t think they are that dumb

But they do feel Dak’s good enough to win with

They also hope he can be Tom Brady. So does every other nfl team. So this thread is groundbreaking how? The thread has done nothing but allow the Prescott haters to spew typical disdain for him.

The Cowboys FO appears to believe that Dak is Mahomes if they just surround him w/ enough talent. However, that idea may have finally changed a bit, w/ the much improved emphasis on D and tough players.

I don’t know if they think Dak is Mahomes with enough talent just getting KC results is better explanation I think .(I wonder what Mahomes will be without hill)

and yes they have finally been convinced that side of the ball matters and has a good coach to build it

Dream on, Dakota "Toad Hunter" Prescot isn't in the same league Allen is. Allen is a stud who put the team on his shoulders and took it to the Rams!
He sure did, did you see allen on defense causing turnovers HE WAS GREAT!! Only held the rams to 10 POINTS!!!

when mahomes lost a few lineman before the sb two years ago how many points could he muster against the bucs in the SB?
In the SB, in the CCG , you should stop, you are a legend in your own mind and it’s sad you know so little but Keep telling everyone 1 and done Dak is just as good.

I personally think Mahomes was only mahomes because of the talent around him. He had unusually above par uniquely talented weapons. As he loses more of those, his play will degrade, and I do not think he ever gets to another superbowl. Him buying time with Hill's speed was something he will not have again. I think he has a short career due to injury.

He is good though.

Unfortunately, Dak doesn't have that bazooka for a right arm that Allen has.

I was way wrong on Allen. He wasn't even a 60% passer in college and I was convinced that guys don't actually get more accurate in the NFL. Was I way wrong!
Everyone except the Bills was wrong on him.

Anyone who says you can't develop accuracy is lying. Dak and Allen are evidence to the contrary.
